I saw this on a friend's Facebook wall.

When you are a pregnant woman in Nigeria, you are not expected to disclose it to even your siblings, if possible your mother and husband, until the first trimester passes by..... Now you are sure that the pregnancy will stay against all household witches and wizards, especially your mother-inlaw; that's if she's the type who didn't support your union with her son in the first place.
When you are a pregnant woman in Nigeria, you are not expected to move around, or go out at some certain time of the day, to avoid evil spirits that might transform the child to something else. Maybe disabled, slowpoke, or change the sex of the baby.
When you are a pregnant woman in Nigeria, you are supposed to hide your pregnancy, you have no right to show neighbours how happy you are, because some of them might get jealous and cause you miscarriage.
When you are a pregnant woman in Nigeria, on no account should you disclose how far you are gone, if not witches and wizards from your village or husband's village that doesn't want to see you deliver safely, will all gather for your sake in the delivery ward on your delivery date.
So many brouhaha that I can't list here, that scares the shits out of Nigeria pregnant women.
Some forgo antenatal, and relocates to the church, simply because the doctor told them that they have bridge babies, and cannot have natural births.
To them, Cesarean section type of birth is a sign that the devil is on their case.
Some of these women have outrageous pelvic bones, that would not allow the safe passage of their babies. But instead of listening to the doctors and booking for a cesarean section, they prefer to jump from one prayer house to another.
I don't believe in magic.
So I don't believe in witches and witch doctors.
If a witch is a witch, it doesn't need your due date validation from you to be present at your delivery ward before it harms your baby. It should forsee the date even before your gynaecologist does.
No spiritual attacks happens or destroys your unborn babies, I don't believe in all those crappie tales of spiritual wickedness in any high place.
The only witches and wizards killing Nigerian women since our independent in the process of childbirth is bad medical and health services.
Carelessness and negligence from the medical practitioners, who don't value lives like our politicians, simply because no one would probe them.
It's only in Nigeria, that a single doctor would act as a surgeon, dentist, optometrist, gynaecologist, pediatrician even though he only had a single degree in medicine.
And because there are no free health care services and sections in Nigeria, lack of money from the family of the pregnant woman is another set witches and wizards that attacks a pregnant woman.
So if you are a pregnant woman in Nigeria, and you are rich enough to fly abroad like our celebrities and politicians does when they have health issues, you will have nothing to fear about.
You can even model with your pregnancy, because when you have good doctors at your disposal, every witches and wizards must bow.
