Unbiased View Of The Garden Of Eden Myth. by CoolUsername: 11:19am On Dec 18, 2015
Once upon a time, there was a garden. In this garden, there was a tree, and a man and a woman, and a God. The God said not to eat of the fruit, and he gave a reason, for they would die on that very day. This was a lie. The first sin. In this garden, there was also a serpent. The serpent asked questions of the woman about what had been said, and the woman did not lie about what had been said. The serpent then said that God had lied, and in doing so the serpent did not lie.

Now the woman did not know yet that it was possible to lie, or what lying meant, but she had two directly conflicting accounts, both of which could not be true. If the serpent had spoken truly, as he did, then the God's reason for not eating the fruit would be invalid,
undermining the weight of the command and the authority and trust of the issuer. To know whether it was the God or the snake that was the liar, the woman would have to risk her life. But this she chose to do, for love of her husband and in service to him, to spare him
the choice and so he might live on with the answer. Behold then, that the woman ate that fruit, and did not die. Instead, she became aware that there was good and evil. For the first time, she knew that there was such a thing as lying, and that a lie had been told.

And she feared, for the person who was evil had much more power than she did. And she gave the fruit to the man, so that he too would know it for a lie. And together, they hid. From an omniscient being. They were found. They were asked what they had done, and they did not lie. The world was still beautiful and pure. The man and woman were without sin. And then the God was a dick about being outed as an evil liar, and cursed the world to become evil, and them to suffer, and all the innocent who came after them to suffer, and ruined it all in the most depraved act of abject wickedness and spite the world has known.

And the still sinless man and woman went out from the garden, and lived much longer than a day.

God can never lie, he created man to live for ever, to be immortal but man ate the fruit and became a mortal being. It is written "be not deceived for God is not mocked, whatever a man soweth, that he shall reap. I don't know bro, but I don't think God will be happy with your view on this. God bless you

Gen 2:17- "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die"

Gen 5:5- So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.

Hilarious! Or maybe there was no garden of Eden. Or perhaps the story is about a middle eastern lord who planted a garden and made slaves tender it and scaring them with death if they ate any of the fruits. But to say the creator of the universe partook in this mockery is ridiculous.

It's all about choice, I give to God through the church. You make your own choice

If this is the way you understand the "Issue", no problem. God, the creator of the Garden, the man, the woman and their adversary will mark your comprehesion.

don't be silly Adam died that very day he ate the fruit spiritually becos every man is a spirit. The death of Adams Spirit eventually brought the death of his physical body gradually.

That sounds like verbal gymnastics to me. They were explicitly told that they'd die that day, nothing was said about spirit. If this story was in another religious book, I'm sure you'll see the obvious holes in its morality.

pretty much a spot on representation of why the adam & eve story represents god's utter unfairness. create two helpless animals that don't know anything (but put a thirst for knowledge in their psyche), then blame them for their desire to know the truth. and all-knowing, he would have known that eve would eat the fruit all along. a sadistic being indeed.

Bible teaches spiritual death and physical.

"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved." Ephesians 2:1-5

@op you failed to add that the omniscient had to look for them, he knew not where they were. He called them out loud just like you or any other human would, then asked them what they had done, if they had eaten the forbidden fruit, how it happened and who made them do it.
Dose that sound like a God who knows everything?

Gen 3 : 7-13

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

And the LORD God said unto the woman, What
is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

true . All of these mockery need to be ignored . The number of these silly attention-seeking topics will plummet if no christian pays any attention to them . Christians should remember that Atheism needs religion for its significance . Ignore them and they'll feel dumb and fizzle out

In the account of creation, this was what i understood.

God created man from clay(body) and gave him breadth of life(spirit/soul, what ever is preferable u might call it)

Hence man has 2 component; CLAY AND BREDTH OF LIFE

If man will die by the instruction/promise ,the breadth of life will be taking and he will remain clay.

I didn't add, neither did I remove from the scripture

But we know how it all went w

You'll say anything to discredit anyone who doesn't agree with you. Seriously check yourself. If you have to resort to fallacies to defend your belief system then there must be flaw in you and/or that belief of yours.

The Great Thinker has spoken . And you dont see conspicuous flaws in the belief systems - Big Fraud Theory , ScamVolution and Abiogenesis - you peddle ?

Please can you state the fallacies he resorted to to defend his ' belief system'

Can you show the flaw in him or in his 'belief system' ?

There are no holes in those theories. Hey, at least a guy didn't have to fit a pair of every single animal (and insect) in a boat for in my theory

It's called an ad hominem. Ad hominem is characterized by attacking the person who is making an argument instead of attacking the argument itself.

His flaw in him is his tendency to use logical fallacies during arguments. The flaws in his belief system are too many to list. But at least my OP shows one of them.
