And so I sit behind my phone everyday, reading through many topics mostly on front page, staying up-to-date on happenings, getting better educated, reading through constructive comments and awed by the intelligence of our youth regardless of the bull crap from the high class about how unemployable we are,all in a bid to shift blames(Thanks to the minds behind NL) I giggled at most goofy comments too;the ethnic, political and social bigotry.I know we'll out-grow the naivety someday or maybe someday become too occupied to find time for Immaterial fights.I could remain passive but then I realize that evil only prevail when good men do nothing.
The IPOB issue is not one that must be left unattended. The leader just got released.I'll assume that as usual the FG brought a deal to his table and he bought it(Patiently waiting for his next move though). Now all I can think of are the losses incurred, the steep price paid by the ignorant and especially the COLLATERAL DAMAGE.
My father spent sometime to school me about the Nigeria-Biafra war because he believed I can't find enough information on the media more credible than that coming from someone who sat on top of the subject matter. He told me how almost all Igbos felt marginalized and assumed the only solution was secession at any cost...How gullible they were!!! He said the late Zik of Africa warned them to desist from their plans as there were more feasible solutions but was quickly labelled a traitor.
Need I go into details of the outcome? The genocide, the unimaginable suffering, women and children starved; people were sometimes framed and sentenced to death for negligible offenses just so others could feast on them.Today,a minor race in the Igbo tribe is still known for cannibalism(and we still wonder how?) The supposed leader fled, lived in exile for years, pardoned, came home but never spoke of the issue...instead chose to use his franchised rights.Lol!!! "If only we heeded" Cried my father who counted his personal losses all for nothing.Yes I said it....NOTHING!!!
He warned that I stay away from any IPOB activity; "walk away when they discuss it" he said.
Now I'm warning the many concerned who may choose to rain goofy comments and make me laugh as always. We are all mature and educated. Why choose to die for a cause u barely believe in? Will the people you pay a price for their evil motives reciprocate if the coin is faced differently? There is absolutely nothing legendary or poetic about dying;like they claim.Make sure every fight is worthwhile; I can tell you that this one isn't.Do you really believe the wealthy and influential Igbo politicians are secretly backing the idea?I bet u'll forget secession if you become wealthy, so work harder for it even under the hash economy.
