The issue of violence against women is still on the increase despite different organizations and people creating a cause against it. Could the problem be that victims are refusing to speak up and cry for help or they are so blinded by ‘Love’ and they hope that these so called men will change someday?

Another very disturbing incident happened and Nollywood actress, Thelma Omone O’khaz, has taken it upon herself to address the issue one more time. Below is the photo of the victim and what Thelma has to say:

“I TAKE THIS VERY PERSONAL!! !
It is now very rampant in Nigeria, a week will not go by without a new horrific picture like this. Violence against women is now on the increase and it seems as if the law on such issue is not taken serious. A lot of women stay in such horrible marriages mostly for the sake of the children and I ask, what if you take the risk and die an untimely death from it, what then happens to the same children? Who will take care of them when you are gone? Is it not better you leave such a deadly marriage and run the risk of people who will almost crucify you for leaving your home and call you all sorts of name but you will still be alive to see your kids grow and have the opportunity to defend yourself in the future.
Violence of this magnitude does not start in a day. First is when he insults you and tries to kill your spirit, then the threats follow, then a slap, and when he gets bored of those things and you still keep quiet because he begs you, he then goes to the next stage which is a belt, a punch and even rapes you and on and on it continues till you die. Another reason why women keep quiet is because they beg and cry to be forgiven but they will definitely continue, you know why? They are PSYCHOPHAT!!! They are not well so they can not change.
I heard she cheated on her husband, if is true, that is still no justification for such evil, if you can’t forgive her then divorce her. Marriage is not a do or die affair, except you are ready to die in his hand, LEAVE !!!!!!”
