al-Ansaari (may Allah be pleased with him)
that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and
peace of Allah be upon him) was asked
about fasting on Mondays and he said: [size=15]“On
(that day) I was born"....[/size]

Imam Muslim reports in his Ṣaḥīh (2454) that the Prophet was asked about his fasting on Mondays and he replied,
“It was the DAY I was born and it was the day on which revelation came to me.”
"The Day I was born" could be viewed from 2 angles...... (i) The day (Monday) he was born with respect to the days of the week and (ii) The day he was born with respect to that which occur once a year (His Birthday).
If the latter was correct he would have fasted just once a year, so what the Messenger of Allah meant by the Day I was born is not in any way related to Birthdays, as it was stated in another narration..........
He صلى الله عليه وسلم said "Good deeds are presented on Mondays and Thursdays and I love that my action is presented whilst I am fasting.” (al-Tirmidhī; 747).
This is another reason for his Monday fasts which isn't Mawlud related and how will he fast with the intention of Eid Mawlud (as some take it) when he has prohibited us to fast on the days of Eid (al-Bukhārī; 1990 and Muslim; 1137).

Eid el Maulud has been celebrated from time immemorial by the most pious of all muslims. and ofcourse you can say they are not sunnis because they appear peaceful as has always being. Subhanallah, what level of ignorance is this. On which islamic authority are they using to justify the celebration of the prophet's birthday? I hope they know their actions inadvertently mean they are claiming to be more knowledgable about the prophet than the sahaba, who themselves lived with the prophet yet never celebrated his birthday. And if there is one thing you should know is very disliked in islam it is innovation/addition of things to the religion without any bases, plus extremism, but usually it is the additions such as this that lead to extremism which leads to all sorts of things and eventually hell fire
