Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Friday paid N700,000 hospital bill for two cancer patients.

Al-Makura paid the N400,000 hospital bill for a two-year-old girl, Dowese Tyengo, who has tumor of the eye before she was diagnosed of cancer at the Benue University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi.

Making the donation, Al-Makura said he was touched by the plight of the little girl when he saw her picture and decided to defray the hospital bill.

Receiving the cash on behalf of the parents of the patient, Pastor Telumun Vaatia, thanked the governor for the gesture and prayed God to reward him abundantly.

NAN reports that Al-Makura also settled N300,000 hospital bill for one Rukaiya Mohammed, whose one leg was amputated and needed money to undergo operation in ABU Teaching Hospital, Zaria, to prevent the lost of the other leg.

Represented by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Ahmed Tukur, the governor said he heard the announcement on radio and decided to pay the bill in order to save Mohammed’s second leg.

The money was received by Mr Aloko Flashman, the Director of News, Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), Lafia, where the announcement was made to assist the patient.

Gov Al-makura is no doubt one of de best performing governors in nigeria..judging by the projects on ground..I want to however make a passionate appeal to him to please persuade the mgt of Nasarawa state polytechnic to realease the results of 2014 HND computer science that was ceased due to issues relating to NYSC mobilisation all pleas to the mgt has fallen on deaf ears...help us our amiable governor and let the school release our results and facilitate our NYSC mobilisation

Is it that:
1. The Governor himself asked that this be publicised
2. Someone present made the publicity
3. Or someone is just desperate to post something on Nairaland.
