I mean, why should there be any envy and bitterness between two separatists regions with similar goals? Why is this being posted as an analogy for the Nigerian context?

That, in a nutshell, is why this makes no sense.

If the IPOB guys were peaceful individuals with logical motives, I doubt anyone would greet their agitation with derision. But for the following reasons

1) preaching violence and anarchy via radio biafra
2) insisting on roping in the emphatically unwilling South south in their Biafra, despite being told firmly to stop doing that.
3) claiming marginalization and persecution when those do not exist in most areas of Nigeria
4) casually throwing out threats of war, war that older and wiser heads know is a terrible thing

A whole lot of Nigerians look with disdain on the poorly educated louts that make up the bulk of the IPOB rank and file.
1. IPOB aren't the only group agitating for Biafra. If you claim IPOB 'preaches violence and anarchy' on Radio Biafra, you should as well tell us which group in Nigeria that has been on the receiving end of violence and anarchy in Nigeria since the unholy amalgamation in 1914. Nnamdi Kanu is only harvesting the hate planted by the Nigerian state against the people of Biafra.

2. It is funny how the people from the Southwest has become the mouth-piece of the South-South people in Nigeria. The choice is theirs and theirs alone to make. Give them some space to do that and quit with your divide and rule tactics. It doesn't work again. The people are becoming wiser now. They know who the real enemy is.

3. That the people of the South-East and the South-South has been marginalised in Nigeria isn't even an issue to be subjected to any debate. For you to boldly come here and claim there is no marginalization means you're either being mischievious or you belong to the group of oppressors. Your evil alliance even ganged up against a South-South president and pushed him out of office. Nigeria has taken a calamitous nose-dive ever since and I don't see any form of recovery in the horizon. Things will definitely continue going down south till we get to the critical mass where the center can no longer hold. The rest will be history.

4. Threats of war Peaceful referendum means war Niggah please! Biafrans want a peaceful referendum. It's funny how you lot think IPOB is constituted by 'uneducated touts'. A shock awaits you soon. It's as clear as daylight that you hate these people. What I've never been able to figure out is why you throw a fit anytime they tell you they're fed up with the relationship and they want out. How long will these strange bedfellows continue to cohabit?

You call the South West 'South West' and yet your entire OP was an attempt to lecture others to rid themselves of 'hatred and envy'. Does your hypocrisy not stun you?

And yes, I stand my ground that the bulk of you are uneducated louts. Why else would you make the unfounded assumption that just because I have disdain for IPOB, I am from the SW? Were you not taught in school that Nigeria has hundreds of ethnic groups?

Thank you for point 3, clarifying that this is all about your annoyance about the Buhari victory.
You may note that just because the South East has never been able to put forward a compelling, charismatic achiever as a Presidential candidate, it does not mean 'marginalization'. Why are you surprised that Nigerians care nothing for the likes of Uzor Kalu or Pius Anyim? Where is your fashola equivalent?

Is anyone persecuting Igbo in Lagos? Edo state? Abuja? Ekiti?

Rubbish

The reasonable thing to do is to tear down the points I raised with hard facts... But as expected, you continue to dance round in circles.

My phone spells 'Southwest' only... Sorry about that. I can't remember where I mentioned you're from the bitter Southwest.

The struggle for Biafra started in 1967. There was no Goodluck Jonathan vs Buhari then. I wouldn't know where you got the idea that the agitations for Biafra is an offshoot of an electoral loss.
