Inebriation is a state or characteristics of drunkenness.
Drunkenness is a physiological state (that may also include psychological alterations of consciousness) induced by the ingestion of ethanol (alcohol) {wikipedia}.
People get drunk for various reasons, anniversaries, sober reflection, emotional instability etc.
So many factors could result to inebriation, people get drunk with authority, emotional instability, success, failures. A drunk mind could hardly discern right from wrong, invariably endangering himself and others around as well. Certain religions prohibits inebriation, due to the overwhelming effect on the consumer and humanity at large. We have seen, heard or even read cases of intoxication, which resulted in calamity, misery and untold hardship to humanity. Alcohol intoxication can wane off with time, but intoxication of the mind could have a devastating or
Productive effects. Doctors, engineers, scientists, teachers, are all drunk with a passion for making life less miserable and more enjoyable. Whilst terrorist, rapist, assassin's are drunk with a passion for misery. I have read cases where security  personnel who are supposed to protect citizens get drunk with authority, shooting at the slightest provocation. I have seen politicians get drunk with personal ambition thereby neglecting the core demands of democracy. When was the last time the world's seen drunkard of piety and humility? It's day 622 since over 300 chibok girls were kidnapped by boko haram terrorist, daily, Nigerians troop in their numbers in solidarity for the abducted girls without minding the menace of d deadly terrorist group, but would Nigerians be counting day 622 if the presidents daughter, or Vice presidents or even Senate presidents daughter is among the abducted girls? Oby Ezekwesili and other brave Nigerians are brave enough to stand up to neglect on the part of the federal government , lending a voice to the voiceless. Despite the widespread condemnation of their courageous movement they stood their ground, reminding the government of their electoral promises, I truly admire their courage, but I think holding candle light procession would not change the kind of rigid government in power, a top government official squandered budget meant for purchase of superior firepower to defeat the beast called boko haram, such people are drunk with passion of causing misery and untold hardship not just to the gallant soldiers risking their lives at the war front but also the lives of citizens at large. I feel the bring back our girls campaign should take a more radical approach by demanding immediate rescue of the abducted girls. Our own government care less about protest, NLC should join the solidarity match, shutting down a section of the economy would trigger a rapid response to the cause of rescuing the abducted girls. Instead of holding procession at unity fountain, I think national assembly sessions should be interrupted sending a strong signal to whoever in charge that this is no more business as usual. Nigerians need to be intoxicated with piety and humility. We are a great nation we only need the right intoxicant.
