Responding to the topic here

It is not Alfa which is pronounced as Alpha, they are called Afas, singular is an Afa, and they're among the two most bastardizing and demonizing our ancestral believe system, spoiling the craft of genuine Babalawos who wouldn't suggest it muchless of indulging in it, that is money ritual, for it is against the fundamental essence and sanctity of their craft, except for the self compromised ones who will do it for a client in desperately in lust for money. I want to use this opportunity to enlighten majority of you Nairalander, especially those Nollywood brainwashed teens that a Babalawo is completely different from an Onisegun who is also different from an Adahunse. A Babalawo is very deep and broad to explain but not limited to that initiated human who has received extensive training in several esoteric knowledge including the usage of what is called an Odu to decipher situations, foreheed a future danger, resolve issues and so many more, his tools is the Ifa divining nature based computer, he also must possess knowledge of the various usage and purpose of leaves and herbs, and most importantly is the privilege that he has access to all the 401 deities including our God (Eledumare) not Yahweh or Allah of the Jews and Arabs respectively. For every 1 genuine Babalawo out there, there are 30 fake ones out there who can either be mediocres, charlatans, imitators, scammers, and sophisticated fraudsters all of whom will lure those who lack true trado-cultural education into their misfortune. The Oniseguns on the other hand are not Babalawos but are infact who the majority of patronizers seeks and regards as Babalawos, because of the popularity of the 'Babalawo' term. An onisegun doesn't consult Ifa oracle, some of them today have learned how to do some basic divination just to consult some basic inquiry, as they are unable to go in-depth as a genuine Babalawo would. An onisegun's crafts strictly involves the manufacture of what I call YAS (Yoruba Advanced Science) erroneously called juju which just like any other scientific products can be used for both good and evil, an Onisegun is a specialist who has majored in two to three specific type of YAS, the herbalists are class of Oniseguns who specialize in the usage of roots and herbs to cure any type sickness and diseases, a branch of them are the 'alagbos' who can be sub-divided into three categories. Their are the Oniseguns who specializes on remedying people afflicted with all types of insanity, there are those who speciality is the knowledge of various esoteric means for defense and protection against physical matters such as bullets, bottles, machete etc and the lists of specialties goes on and on from which are the moralistically neutral ones whose speciality includes but not limited to wanting someone eliminated, afflicted with misfortune or bad luck, accident, heavy losses etc and to help exact revenge (different from the requesting a deity to avenge on your behalf) and finally the Oniseguns who are either just plain sadistic and inhumane who after acquiring esoteric knowledge of an abominable sub-craft always feed their urge to dabble, experiment and render it not for themselves but greedy and desperate seeker of shortcut to money. To the best of what I have deduced, the craft itself bears its heinous existence in three types which are all riddled with dire conditions, grave consequences and inevitable repercussions, the most exerting of these condition, consequence and repercussion is the third type for it is utter EVIL because of the usage of human parts and every true and genuine Babalawo knows it is an abominable practice and also why it is forbidden for them to indulge in it because they know the origin of how Money was cursed by God in the early beginning of time. Yes, in Yoruba cosmogony Money too is a major deity, and should have been in the place of Eshu if only Bishop Ajayi Crowder had sufficient knowledge of the belief system of his ancestors before translating the Christian Bible to Yoruba. Money is the root of all good and evil things in this world, Yoruba believe system states it is either one is contended with the business of living, and if it among one's 'akunleyan' to be rich, wealthy or opulence one would surely attain it at that point in time (the age one has assigned for oneself for it to manifest) where its usage would be worthwhile, all one need to do is to be patience and not lazy at whatever one does, an exception for the lazy aspect are those whose 'akunleyan' are the types born with silver spoon into wealthy homes whose billionaire parent can decided to open an fixed-deposit account for their child with millions thereby by the age of 18, he or she is already a millionaire. But if it is not among one's 'akunleyan' and 'akunlegba' to be either rich, wealthy or opulence in life, the microphone of God called Ifa wherein the language it speaks through as compiled and interpreted by Orunmilla (deity presiding over wisdom and deep knowledge) to the Babalawo states that one should remain contented with the business of living and strive to keep a good iwa (personality) for there is an Ere (dividend) for such while those who want find it hard to remain contented with the business of living only to succumb to desperation thereby resorting to evil means to achieve anything, there's punishment depending the gravity of the evil committed. In the case of those patronizing those bent Oniseguns thinking they are Babalawos to seek money ritual, who know the esoteric knowledge of manipulating and tricking the agents of the cursed Money deity to bring forth money, there are inescapable and dire repercussion for the person on whose behalf it is done while the Onisegun secretly offering to do it receives clean money from the desperado. Finally, there are many Afas who mixed the money ritual knowledge with Islamic mysticism to they desire some of these Afas . .

Thanks for this. There's a lot of misconception out there about our tradition and belief system occasioned by limited knowledge of our tradition and even more by the translation of Bishop Ajayi Crowder of our revered Esu Ola Ilu to mean the Satan of the other 2 religion from the East.

I pray Ifa will shine the light of understanding on the darkness of their knowledge and grant them wisdom.
