Why is the day before new year beefed with spiritual/superstitious auras?. I've bore witness to many folks washing their dirty clothes like entering 2016 with reserves of dirty clothes is a bad omen. As this day draws to an end, many people will flock churches like there's a spiritual warfare in the streets and thier homes, posing churches as spiritual I.D.P camps. When it clocks 12am, many will shout their hearts outs and offer thanksgivings like seeing 2016 is a sure banker that death and misfortune would no longer hold sway in thier lives.

I see nothing unwholesome about the foresaid human expression in anticipation of a new year. However, I think this day and most importantly, the few hours before 2016 should be of retrospection. How well have we fared? Have we in the light of good conscience Done what we are supposed to do? Gone where we are supposed to go, Said what it behoves us to say and Given away what we ought to give?. May the New year (2016) be characterized by these exalted virtues.
