I see no problem with the statue! Brazil has one (Christ the redeemer statue) it's one of the most visited places in the world generating billions of dollars in tourism for the Brazilian economy year in year out.

If there was a 'Jesus' he had to have been black/brown like the people in the said region were at the time - not that white caucasian caricature.

I'm sure the christian bible describes him as having ''hair like lamb's wool and feet like burnt brass''.

Is there a better description of a black man than that?

They are pained that Christians disrespected Jesus to the extent he has become a mere content of caricature

Secondly, they are flabbergasted at the lameness and weakness of Christianity that instead of imortalizing Jesus, it ended up idolizing him so badly and sinfuly

The Muslims are laughing and the ignorance of Christianity, in it faith of wanton carving and unrepentant photography primarily to keep their faith in the realm of realism.

It could also be that, out of excessive love and regard the Muslims have for Jesus,they are dumfounded as to why a prophet of God be turned to carcass of ridicule by the same Christians who claimed to him so dearly.

Our God is not anything ,Jesus is not anything, the saints in heaven are not anything, our mother Mary is not anything the angels are not anything.
God himself commanded moses n Aaron to create an ark to represent him at the alter.
God commanded moses to carve a Golden snake n dat anyone who looks at it wud be saved. There are several other examples of God approving images as long as they represent him.
So it is not about the image ,rather its about who they represent.

Many paintings of jesus done by artists are identical if not the same.....
No photogographer took his picture but these painting came about by the outline of his face on scarf Veronica uswd to wipe his face during his walk to golgotha..
An outline on his face was imprinted on the scarf/hankerchief and artists built up using that as a framework
