Monkey is not a virus, it's a kind of auto-matic test app which popular used among the develop & research department by OEMs

This is one virus that is only removable through professional method. Several cases of this virus comes to my office every day. Factory reset or flashing won't solve it. A flash that is having to do with repartition ( In the case of other chipset apart from mediatek devices) will solve it. Then for mediatek, flashing it and then rebooting to recovery instantly. Then wipe data/factory reset without booting up the phone will solve it. Or make full flash that includes cache.img and userdata.img will solve it. This virus integrates in four partition of the phone it infects.

From what I have seen. They are
1. As bloatware
2. As Android cores module
3. As user app
4. As pre-installed app.

A simple flash will only cure the ones inside of a Android as Android core modules.

A factory reset via recovery will only solve the ones inside user app

For non mtk phones, a flash won't solve the ones infected inside bloatware partition, user app.

NOTE! The number one source of this virus is downloading apps via Mobogenie or other app stores.

The real name of the virus is called Ghost Push virus.

Stay away from popular apps outside Playstore. Eg Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, ikeyboard, Talking Tom, iNote, Easy Touch etc.

At the early days of the virus, such method cured it. But the virus got even smarter than the anti virus in the recent days. When it calls in its family by downloading other backdoor app, it becomes highly sophisticated and undetectable. I have never seen this method cure all coming to my office lately expect for early July.
