If you use social media for business you must read this.
Community building on social media is a process of gathering people with shared interest or goal on any social channel.

The shared interest is centered around a specific topical issue maybe a service or product.The quality and relevance of
the content available on your page determines the quantity and quality of your followers or community.

Think about google.What brings people to google search? To get informed you say.Then, that information google has is

what drives people to it.That information is called CONTENT.

Content is the lifeblood that drives and thrives a community.There must be a common denominator of interest.A "shared

value".

A brand needs to give an audience a reason to engage with it. A new audience is not a community yet until
a sense of purpose is shared or exist btw the brand,the audience and the members of the community themselves.
So one of the first priorities for a customer community management strategy is determining engagement strategies to

foster a sense of community is to KNOW its audience and provide relevant content that provide value or solution.

1.Add "A Like Gate" on your page or a hidden content on your page that is only revealed after someone has liked your

page.


2.Another method is re-posting questions asked by others on the wall (giving the question more visibility) for all

community members to comment on.This is one great way to foster or encourage interaction amongst a page's community

and it improves answer legitimacy because its user other than brand generated.

3.other successful method is competition,poll, video or blog content.

4.Add a blog feed. use www.networkedblogs or rss graffiti to import blog posts from your blog. right into your facebook

page as they are published

5. Organise an event or sponsor an event,and use facebook event features to share it through your page.


6.Keep it relevant..Its is good to add in some personality by posting a bit off topic ocassionally,but must be

relevant,useful to your audience.

7.Encourage sharing on your page and make your page easy to interact with.

8.Host competition on facebook and reward your fans on your page.

9. For more engagement always use visuals/images and texts preferably questions.

10. Practice by putting to action tall the tips outlined above.

The core goal of community building is business oriented engagement,e.g consumer feedback,branding, sales lead.

It gives you a source of information or feedback about your product or service.
It is a tool for understanding consumer behavior.
A good tool for customer relationship building and dispute resolution.
A good platform for online reputation management/PR.
