Impact Montreal striker and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba decided to retire from football, L’Equipe unveiled on Wednesday. According to the French daily, the former Côte d’Ivoire international called his MLS side’s chairman to announce his decision. Drogba is set to join Guus Hiddink’s backroom staff at Stamford Bridge, where he has won 14 major trophies as a player at the top of his career. The 37-year-old also played for Le Mans, Guingamp, Marseille, Shanghai Shenhua and Galatasaray at club level, and competed at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with Côte d’Ivoire. https://www.today.ng/sport/62431/chelsea-legend-drogba-retires-from-football |
