"Your husband’s mum came in today to remind you of the need to give her grandchildren and this time she was very unpleasant in her approach…”

This, and many more are some of the reasons for strained relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law which in most cases leads to the fear factor in the mother-in-law/ wife relationship. Some ladies are also scared of the level of scrutiny their boyfriend’s mom pose when it is time to be introduced as a girlfriend or even as a fiancee. This amongst other reasons are why most ladies pray for the demise of their mother-in-laws before they are married.

Perhaps, it may sound funny to some people, but nobody wantS their mother dead not especially your husband or husband to be. So, that should not be the first thing on your mind, if you are the type having issues with your iya oko.

In this article, we would examine some practical reasons why ladies are scared of their mother-in-laws.

During courtship, some ladies see signs it will not be a good relationship between they and their mother-in-laws but they are too blinded by love to correct this early before marriage, so they risk the consequences of this oversight. No need overemphasizing, where you have noticed some coldness from your mother-in-law during dating or courtship, if you cannot get her to your side, darling no need going into such marriage.

The consequence is more killing than the consequences of breakup. Such dislike from the mother-in-law before marriage can be traced to difference in social background, ethnic differences and in some cases first impression grudge. At this point, it is easy to redress such dislikes and cope with its positive or negative outcome, if not, bet you, the lady may have to avoid the mother-in-law even in her marriage.

Avoiding your mother-in-law who portends trouble for you in marriage can be a result of childbirth delay, which in most cases is often misconstrued as the woman’s fault.

Herein the husband has a lot to do to convince his mum of the assurances that the lady is very alright medically to have a child and efforts are being made to have her conceive soon. In this circumstance, the lady will do everything to avoid her mother-in-law until the good news is news.
Avoiding one’s mother-in-law is not the best way to deal with problems with mother-in-law. However, if it is possible to avoid a difficult mother-in-law to periodic occasions and landmark celebrations like festive events, family occasions, then the better it is for a smooth relationship between you two.

Mother-in-laws can be very wonderful and all loving, if a lady is lucky to have a loving and wonderful and loving one. Doing everything possible to maintain the good side of a mother-in-law is a task as easy as keeping your man’s love. A lady who constantly has problems with her husband tilting towards family interference may not have a good face with her mother-in-law, hence avoiding her whenever possible.

Some ladies lack good manners and interpersonal relationship, such that they cannot cohabit well with their mother-in-law , even during visits. This is an attitudinal reason, which if not corrected early, may cause malice between a lady and her mother-in-law.

Handling a difficult mother-in-law is not such an herculean task. It is not insurmountabl, and the Monster-in-law movie starring Jennifer Lopez will easily come to mind for those who want to try harder. However, if it’s not working, draw your man’s attention to the situation. And if his involvement in the matter is still not helping matters, my dear if you can’t beat them, then walk away. Go on being beautiful, review your mistakes and work on areas of your life that needs improvement, and see how another classy man comes and sweep you off your feet; from a respectable family, of course.

Remember, do not wish anybody death: mother-in-law or whoever. You might be on your way to being a murderer yourself.
