I really dunno if i shud be writing this but i just don't want others to make the same mistake i made....I applied for MBBS in unilag, didn't make the cut off mark,so i was thrown into microbiology,it wasn't easy being in a new sch worst of all in a course u didn't apply 4. I disliked everything,i felt i was in a cage, thoughts of writing another jamb flooded through my mind,bt i have failed once wat was the assurance dat i wouldnt fail again,i just wasn't ready to face another failure,i guess i was a coward.
I attended lectures like the living corpse i wasn't bothered about my life, cos i felt my dreams had been chattered,my admission was d first time i heard abt d course,no prospect of being a medical doctor or an engineer,i was stuck, for the first time in my life i was having a bleek future so you understand why i was attending class in that manner......
Right now am just entering my final year,i really dunno wah or where i am in this life,my whole university education was based on getting a firstclass atleast even if i didn't get a course of my choice but lemme just graduate with a firstclass but its nt gonna be so cos i had a bad foundation in year 1 ,no one adviced dah my yr1 cud have a major impact on my cgpa,my lackadaisical attitude towards my studies made me where i am now by God's grace next dis yr i wud b graduating with a 4pt cgpa as a second class upper student....some mistakes can't be corrected..
Why i wrote this article is to tell d incoming freshers dat d decisions and attitude towards thier first year in school could make or mar dier final grades...please choose wisely and when you fail don't be like me dah realised dah i should stand and continue, pick up yourself as quick as possible cos the race is still on... Sorry for your time

Like I have always say, 1st class, 2.1, 2.2, 3rd class, pass and certificate of attendance starts in Year 1. A friend of mine could not graduate with a 1st class because he made cgpa of 2.70 in his year 1, though he made an average of 4.5 in other years.
Freshers get serious!

Yes, once you derail in your first year, it is usually very difficult to get a first class. Most freshers are still overwhelmed with being "undergraduates".
Freshers, better listen!
