People Who Are Called By His Name Do Not See Their Prayer Answered. WHY? by iliyande(m): 7:16am On Jan 10, 2016
If My People Who Are Called by My Name will Humble themselves

Good Christians can quote 2 Chronicles 7:14, but most do not realize that the passage is a conditional if...then statement. Used in computer programming and logic, an if...then statement means that if you do A, B, and C then you will get the results of X, Y and Z. So, if even one condition is missed then you forfeit the entire promise.

2 Chronicles 7:14 "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

So in a logic statement it breaks down to,

if
1. my people - (those who are saved)
2. who are called - (people that have a specific call on their lives from God)
3. humble themselves - (put your self-last, and others needs first)
4. and pray - (being humbled, now seek only God's will for your life)
5. seek my face - (continue to seek God's face with all your being, let God be your bread and water)
6. turn from their wicked ways - (repent cast off every evil deed that could be distracting you from God's will)

then
1. I will hear from heaven - (God promises He will hear your prayers)
2. Forgive your sins
3. Heal your land

In-order to receive the blessings of God you must, be one of God's people. You must have a direct calling from God on your life. You must be humble. You must pray, and seek God's face above all else. Then finally you must truly repent and cast off the old man. Stop living in sin and accept what God has for you. Then and only then blessings will follow.

However, despite the Lord’s willingness to answer prayer, it is obvious that some prayers have gone unanswered. Why is this? The following are the most common reasons why some prayers do not get results:

Unconfessed Sin

Psalm 66:18 says, "If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me."
David wrote, "Search me O God and know my heart. Try me and see my wicked way and lead me in the way of everlasting truth." (Psa. 139:23,24)

Lack of Perseverance

Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

Probably the greatest reason that some prayers go unanswered is because many give-up praying and believing before they receive their answer. As long as we have the promise of God’s Word, be patient and persistent - keep believing, and don’t quit, no matter how long it takes! God has a “due season” when He will bring the answer to pass.

Unfaithfulness

Hos. 5:6,7 - When they go with their flocks and herds to seek the Lord they will not find him, he has withdrawn from them. They were unfaithful to the Lord, they will give birth to illegitimate children. NOw their New Moon festivals will devour them and their fields."

Unforgiveness

Jesus said, "When you stand praying, If you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your sins." (Mark 11:25
Jesus said, "If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." (Matt 6;14)

Disobedience

Micah 3:4 says, "Then they will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer them. At that time he will hide his face from them because of the evil they have done."
Lam 3:43,44 says, "We have sinned and rebelled and you have not forgiven... You have covered yourself with a cloud so that no prayer can get through."

Doubt

James 1:6,7 says, "But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Selfishness

James 4:1-4 "You do not get because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive because you spend it on your own pleasures."
Mark 10:45 - Even the Son of man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many."

Idolatry Hinders Prayer

Jeremiah writes, "They have returned to the sins of their forefathers, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them..."I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry not to me, I will not listen to them." (Jer. 11:10,11)

Insincerity

Deut 4:29 says, "But if from there you seek the Lord your God you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and with all your soul."

Pride

James 4:6 says "He gives us more grace. That is why the scriptures says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves under the Lord and He will lift you up." Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before stumbling.

Self-righteousness

Jesus said, "To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable. Two men went up to the temple to pray, The Pharisee stood up and prayed aloud, "God I thank you that I am not like other men - robbers, evildoers. I fast twice a week. But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, "God have mercy on me a sinner. I tell you that this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself, will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." (Luke 18:9-15)

In His mercy, God allows mankind to eat of the fruit of his toil (hard labor) whether we are obedient to Him or not.

Jesus referenced the mercy of God that he pronounced in Gen 8:22 when he mentioned that God makes the sun rise on the evil and good, and sends the rain on the just and unjust (Mat 5:45).

OP, permit me, if I might add:

Have u read the book of Job?? If yes or no, kindly read again.

To answer ur question, true prosperity but comes from God alone, the prosperity of the unbeliever doesn't come from God but from the prince of this world who they rever.

Ah ah the devil does not want them to find their way back to God, hence he must have to make their lives so comfortable they don't even remember anything else but those worldly things they have come to know n want.

Even Job in his laments to God asked the very same question: where he talked about His neighbours that do all sorts of evil things yet nothing bad ever happened to them and instead they continued to be prosperous and Job said he thought it was supposed to be the other way round. God however said it wasn't He blessing these people, but the devil who they are worshipping with their way of life.

Mind you, not all prayers are answered by God and for different purposes too. The devil also answers prayers for his own evil motive.

So long as one is in the world and does things the way of the world, loves the world, it's pride, lust and flesh, then they are bound to flourish as easily as these is part of the strategy from the pit of hell to keep their minds locked down n changed to the voice of truth. Mind you this doesn't go to say that the people of God don't also prosper, they do and even better than the world's standards as the surety of theirs comes from the source of all light (God), they do and infact that's the best form of prosperity a man can truly desire as with it comes peace and rest of mind. Hence it is one every true believer should very well aspire to.

1John 2, 15 - 17, u might want to read this portion as well.

I hope I answered the question.

Shallom!!!

Really? and has God answered all of your prayers since then? Come on! You know the Post is filled with nothing but lies and more lies weaved together to make you feel good about walling in the doctrines and traditions of men. God made it clear instead in scripture that He does not answer the prayers of the unrighteous; Every plea/petition/cry/request from an unrighteous person to the ears of God is coated in sin(unholiness) and hence an abomination to God. The same is what happens to the good works done by unrighteous people as explained by Isaiah in Isaiah 64 vs 1 - 6. God cannot abide unholiness. undecided

So, what does that all mean? It means that so long as you continue in unrighteousness, God will never answer any single one of your prayers. God said He only answers the prayers of the righteous; He delights in granting them their heart's desire as His love is stored up for such as these. If you want God to answer your prayers, certainly you realize that more prayers will not do you any good in that at all. Rather, you should start now doing as Jesus Christ commands which is that you seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness), and then God's righteousness, so that all these things — the blessings, and rewards of the Kingdom of God, including answers to prayers — shall be added onto you. There is no other way except righteousness. Jesus Christ said that the only way is through continuous submission and obedience to His teachings and commandments — God's Truth and Law in the Kingdom of God - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23. Those who love God are those who do as God commands — not what their pastors and mogs say, by the way— and it is only these that abide in Him as He abides in them. undecided

1. But what is written in the book of Chronicles applies to the people of Israel living in the land of Canaan, and not to followers of Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God who are not called by the Name of God? undecided

2. Rather, according to Jesus Christ, the only way to receive the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God is to seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness) and God's righteousness in order that all these things — the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God, including answers to prayers — shall be added on to a one. This makes sense since God made it abundantly clear in scripture that He does not answer the prayers of the unrighteous; every prayer — please, request, petition— of the unrighteous is made filthy with sin(unholiness) and as such an abomination to the ears of God. Even Isaiah repeated this message when He revealed how the sins of the unrighteous make filthy their works rendering their offering to God an unacceptable abomination - Isaiah 64 vs 1 - 6. It is only the prayers of the righteous that God responds to and He answers every single one of them — God delights in answering the prayer of the righteous since His love is stored up for such. undecided

No amount of praying can make an unrighteous become righteous as is obvious. The only way to become righteous — abandoning all sins and doing good works that are pleasing to God— is through knowing the Truth — continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, God's Truth, and Law in the Kingdom of God. When one knows the Truth, one is then eventually set free by the Truth to become a Son of God, a holy worthy vessel that is then able to go forth and do good works of righteousness that are pleasing and acceptable to God - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23. undecided

Prosperity regarding material possessions has nothing to do with your prayers, God owe no one any favour regarding that so if you want to pray think of what ancient servants of God do pray for and why not just wake up and start making demands simply because you're reading the Bible!

If you are well aware of the fact that that same mercy/kindness of God is poured out on every single man on earth, why then do you pretend it amounts to answers to prayers when it reaches you? undecided

1. What most of us conveniently turn a blind eye to when using Job as an example is that Job was a righteous man — God said so. The rules are completely different when it comes to the righteous. undecided

2. Where did God say the statement in bold? undecided

3. This is a lie since God says He answers all of the prayers of those who are righteous; God, however, answers none of the prayers of the unrighteous. undecided

4. Where in the world does this idea of yours come from? According to Scripture, it is instead the mercy/kindness of God that even the unbelievers enjoy, and causes them to flourish, so where is it written that Satan answers prayers? undecided
