We’ve located abducted Chibok girls – Defence Chief

ABUJA—FORTY-THREE days after more than 200 schoolgirls were abducted in Chibok, Borno State by insurgent sect, Boko Haram, the Military High Command, yesterday, had cheering news for the traumatised parents as it said it has located where the girls were being held hostage but would not use force to rescue them.

Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh disclosed this in Abuja even as UK media reported, yesterday, that but for the last minute change of mind by President Goodluck Jonathan, the abducted Chibok girls would have been freed.

Badeh, while addressing members of the Citizen Initiative for Security Awareness (CISA), an NGO on a solidarity campaign to the Defence Headquarters, said that the military will not use force in the rescue operation. He, however, assured that everything was being done to ensure their safe rescue.

Nigeria's Goodluck Jonathan vows to free Chibok girls

Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has told parents of the girls abducted by militant Islamist group Boko Haram that the government is doing everything possible to secure their release.

He met parents for the first time on Tuesday after being accused of handling the 100-day crisis badly.

More than 150 people attended the meeting after the government chartered a plane for them, reports say.

The abduction of the more than 200 girls in April sparked global outrage.

Parents pulled out of a meeting with Mr Jonathan last week amid accusations they were being used for political reasons.

The parents of 11 of the girls have died since their abduction, the Associated Press news agency reports.

I recently met a guy from Chibok who was at Chibok during the abduction and he told me some things(a yam seller ) :

The day before the abduction, a big trailer was parked in front of the school.
The villagers heard via sms of a planned BH attack on their village, most of the parents ran to the school to withdraw their wards but we're resisted by the school principal who also threatened them. She said any student that leaves would forfeit the remaining papers.
Up until now, no one knows the whereabouts of those girls.
The principal of that school has just been recently made a commissioner of education. (Really? Even after the role she played?)
