Nigeria's one time top music artiste, 2face, was reportedly booed off stage at a show in Abuja.
His career has taken a turn for the worst and he is in trouble career wise!
with the recent influx of new artists like djinee, shakar el swagga ,terry g, k-solo, the mohits crew , saucekid ,mi, modenine and a host of other artistes who work hard daily to release new materials (some even free online and in blogs and forums) and stay relevant, old artists who live on past glory will either work harder or leave the stage for new bloods.


Ogbeni tu baba Idibia is known in the music industry as 2face and is the man behind the hit song 'African Queen'. Since this debuted in 2005, 2face has remained at the top of the charts and his career until now.

Last month, at the Abuja Show which took place at the Old Parade Ground, everything was going well until 2face appeared on stage. He was late to perform and so the crowd rejected him at first.

Later on into the show after the crowd showed a bit of support towards the musician, he began singing old songs and they shouted at him in demand for fresh music. 2face angered by their demands, dropped the microphone and stormed off stage. The disappointed crowd reacted to 2face's retreat by getting hold of the item closest to them and hurling it on stage. This included water, popcorn and even stones.

2face recently made a move back to NowMusik,after hypertek failed the label he abandoned a few years ago for Kennis Music, after his most recent work entitled 'Unstoppable' did not a lot but flop. This rough patch in his career has affected 2face's performance and behaviour on stage and behind the scenes.
Many people now appreciate kenny ogungbe and dayo d1 adeneye as the result of tuface leaving kennis clearly shows that kenny and D1 were actually good managers!

The battle he is facing in the music industry is said to have been hindered by the large amount of bad publicity about his multiple out-of-wedlock babies. There has been speculations that 2face's marriage partners have been giving him trouble on the home front and demanding for upkeep money which may be causing a knock on effect to his career as his performances are way below expectation.

2faces' advisers will now be planning his next steps to bring back support of the fans. Now that he is signed with his previous label, NowMusik, it is said that he will return to the limelight in no time. We hope they plan this well as Nigeria has come of age , and artist with music deemed as old or being below par will be thrown out automatically.

We wish 2face the best of luck and he can be assured of our support to get back on top!

He should quit it

Whether booed off or wooed on stage, 2face remains one of the top 3 artistes from Nigeria . . . and one of the best from Africa.

There's a lot of bullsh*t in that write-up . . . how can 2face be described as "Nigeria's one time top music artiste"?? And what could make his career take a turn for the worst?? Just cos he was booed off stage or cos he's making babies?? That's crap.

And how can 2face be mentioned in the same breath as Shakar, Terry G, K-solo, Mohits, Saucekid?? He towers above those cats . . . In a country where majority of the so-called artistes are just a buncha noisemakers who're busy reeling out mediocre trash on danceable beats . . . 2face, 80-sumn% of the time, makes use of meaningful lyrics in his songs. How many naija cats have made meaningful songs like One Love?? And that's to avoid making a long list.

When some peops refer to Unstoppable as a weak album, I question their music taste . . . that's a wonderful album . . . Nigerians must learn to decry the mediocre habit of artistes singing anything on a danceable beat and presto, a hit song is out . . . that's BS.

Apart from Enter The Place (which I hate anyway), you won't find those must-dance-to-even-if-shitty kind of songs on Unstoppable . . . it mainly boasts of songs with meaning . . . it's an evolved 2face, deeper and more mature.

What does that Abuja crowd want?? He should compose new songs for them on the spot?? They should go take a pee!!

Of course Kenny and D-1 are good managers . . . but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do . . . they're good for publicity and all that but must he live off them for life?? . . . and must he tarry until those predators milk him dry??

And of course he goofed with those baby-making sturvs . . . but some dorks are tryna sweep his hard work under the carpet cos of that mistake . . . that ain't right.

He's human . . . look beyond the occasional errors and his shortcomings . . . blot out the mistakes and you have an amazing talent in 2face.

I totally agree with u 100%. Apart from enter the place, unstopable is one of the albums i play without skiping tracks. The thing is that most peeps dont have independent views on any topic. They'er only interested in joining the band wagon just to look politically correct and sound like a stand-up guy or chick. Ask most peeps what they hate about unstopable and u'll realise they hate it because every body seem to hate it, not because they believe the musik is bad. Mind u, every shop u enter has unstopable and peeps are still buying the album even as of now, yet they say the album is weak.
2face has to go tru this phase to become a better person.
As for the babies, though i dont gbadu dat but i'd rather he have to flush them out like some people do. Just cos we know a few mistakes he's made doesn't mean we crucify him. Peeps have worse secrets. On a last note, 2face ROCKS.

I am surprised to see this kind of false information here,i am based in abuja and the only show that took place by weekend was Tuface's show and inside Thisday dome,if you guys don't know what to say about this born talent ,you shuold just keep quiet and take it as he said "who God has blessed no man can curse''

Shakar El Swagga being compared to 2face, man this one don pass joke. This Payola thing is getting out of control.

With the exception of maybe D'Banj's entertainer,  2 face's album is the best thing out there currently. Of course, that's if you're into real music and not the 80% garbage that's currently in circulation.

Blinx, you're 150% spot on. Nigerian's have no idea what individuality means. Nobody wants to go against the grain. They'll buy his album and be secretly playing it, while they blast him in public.

Like all new markets (think dotcom in the 90's) the wheat will eventually be removed from the chaff and the real musicians will begin to emerge. Steel, take note.

Bamsyle, said it all,while giving every artiste his/her due,I'd say 2face stands out as an artiste that has cut through the mainstream, the fact that he's developing by being creative in the unstoppable cd (which by the way for me is his best effort yet) and not allegedly pushing units doesn't make him any less better.
Do you really wanna know the real reason the unstoppable cd is not allegedly doing so good in the market,from my point of view that is?,,,the answer is simple, the Nigerian populace wants something with a bangable beat, read, party like beat,and 2faces's recent effort didn't provide much of those if it did at all (enter the place was an attempt at that).
Listen, while I give kudos to every artiste as I know it's not easy to be creative, I'd like for them to work more on their lyrics, lawd,at the risk of being castigated,I'd say majority of Nigerian artiste out there owe their success to the Producers!!! if the artiste could work as hard in his composition as the producer in his beats then wow! Nigeria would be the country to beat in the musical entertainment genre.
If I must be frank we just party to very very dope beats from producers such as Don Jazzy,I.D Cabasa,Terry G,K-Solo,M-I,OJB et al interlaced with very weak lyrics, infact the some of the Nigerian artiste specialize in making sure they have catchy hooks as they have discovered that this plus a dope beat is the key that unlocks the door of commercial success and instant stardom, well,I no go blame dem as na wetin they sell na im person dey shade for store o!

People are just hating on 2 face for no reason. Unstoppable was a very good album. Look at tracks like Free, Go Down There, Jungle Don Mature, I Sing, Appreciate It, Take It Back etc. 2 face is arguably the best lyricist in the R&B world in Naija. The minds criticizing him are not mature enough to accept that music is not all about party.

I can't believe a normal human being wrote
