Reports just filtering in confirms that the Supreme court which sat today, Monday, 18th January, 2016 at Abuja has upheld the election of Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state.

The apex court in its ruling neglected the appeal court’s judgement which cancelled elections in all 33 Local Government Area of the State, calling for a re-run.



It will be recalled that Udom Emmanuel headed to the Supreme Court soon after the lower court’s ruling last year.
