Who says GOD don't answer prayers! Baba Adeboye was in PH to pray for him and here come the outcome! That is what they call GOD's mercy & favour! Go on Wike and be a gentle man. Fix rivers and don't be a propaganda governor! It's well with u.

In as much as I am in support of Wike winning the case at the supreme court, I want us to look at two major reasons why we should be happy with the judgement in a non partisan view.
1. It has saved us some money: This judgement has saved not only Rivers state but Nigeria as a whole some money. Everyday we keep crying no money, economy is dry yet some people were still advocating for a re run. A re run election in Rivers state will gulp millions if not billions of Naira as both leading contending parties will fight to the last to claim the state and the irony of it is that tax payers money will be used. This is turn will make whoever wins to use the re-run election in giving excuses of no money when it is time to work.

2. Loss of lives: If Bayelsa with only 8 LGA's could claim as much amount of lives as it did in the last election, imagine how many lives Rivers state with 23 LGA's would have claimed. The election would have been a do or die affair for both parties with the citizens as casualties. For my family here we were already thinking of leaving the state till the election is over. If not for anything else, we should be happy that the supreme court has spared us another round of blood shed.

the only reason is that it is the position of the law! QED. Any attempt to colour it otherwise is the work of zombies. Let the law be above all. There is hope tyranny would be check mated! Thank you supreme court.

Nice talk. The APC wailers and those fighting for APC to capture Rivers so that they can be among their financial milking state are not thinking the way you think. They dont care about shedding the blood of the poor masses, provided they achieve their selfish aim.

Even though i am in support of wike winning and being the Gov of Rivers state. I have some concerns about the Impact of the supreme court Judgemment on elections in Nigeria in the future. It has indirectly rubbished the efforts at reducing election rigging thru the use of card readers. This judgment will embolden politicians to ignore the card reader and rig elections knowing that they have a chance of winning at the court based on the position of the law. We all know results were inflated manually even though wike would have still won if a free and fair election held. This judgement even though it has proven the independence of the judiciary at least at the supreme court has taken us many steps backward in achieving rigging free elections. I will like something to be done quickly legislatively with regards to card readers

Hmmmmmmm

Politics is all about personal interest. I rarely delve into state issues other than mine.
@OP, your interest is your primary concern which is understandable. Be that as it may, the violence that marred the election in Rivers state will always elicit despair in minds of many.
No matter the explanation that the SC may put forward later, one thing cannot be ignored - some dubious politicians are already analysing the judgement for future reference. Apparently, for now, maximum violence begets desired power.

i may agree with u but remember what is good for the goose is also good for the gander...if Lagos state own was not annulled, then rivers state own should not be annulled. So i guess the lagos factor played a role in wike's victory.

Thirdly, its a waste of time because the incumbent will still emerge the winner though he may have to step on some toes.
Finally, Properties worth billions of naira will be destroyed when the two contending supporters clashes not just lives will be wasted but also properties.

Thank God for the judgment of the Supreme Court.
