Access Bank Shomolu Lagos has refunded my 1K by Codeblues(m): 7:54pm On Jan 31, 2016
Few minutes ago I withdrew 33K from Access Bank ATM @ Shomolu,Lagos from my Fidelity
account. Immediately the ATM dispensed the 20k & 13k respectively, I folded the money and put them in my pocket after getting to where I needed the money lo & behold two 500 naira notes were among the 1000 notes dispensed to me at the ATM. I had to go a nearby Ecobank where I withdrew another 1K to balance up. The funny thing was that these 500 notes were placed separately among the 1k notes which makes me feel it was deliberate.
Is this part of the new tricks banks are now using to defraud innocent customers?

It may be a mistake but the computer is not supposed to lie about how much will be deducted from your account

Most of our ATM's reorganise notes and not denomination.
The same way ATM could have in between the 500 bills, some 1,000 bills thereby increasing ones withdrawal by 500 margin as the case may be.

I do not think it was deliberate, such error could only be traced to the bulk teller that either received the money or, the person that sorted the bills for the machine.
Though, it could still be from the a customer of the bank( ie, the customer that lodged the cash). If so, the tellers fault also.

The sure thing is that, an overage must reflect somewhere somehow, "All things being equal"

It was deliberate and the people responsible are either the person releasing the money from the strong room, the cashier or the officer responsible in loading the ATM machine. I once discovered fake N1,000 note I withdrew from an ATM machine.I only discovered that when I wanted to buy fuel from Petrol station. It was an embarrassment.

Once banks keep employing contract staffs, they will continue experiencing this forms of frauds with their banks.
