I weep for this country. I have never engaged my time, thought and resources before as i did in the last concluded general election in 2015 because i thought the era of election malpractice would be brought to minimal.
I can recall that when my Principal was adviced by one of his friends to indulge in election rigging in other to scale through in his bid to become an elected candidate in the state, my Principal rejected it vehementjy that with the introduction of Card Reader and so called Jega/Inec integrity, it wouldn't be an easy adventure for those planing to rig election this time. We dwelt on that premise until now that it has dawn on us that we were deceived and were living on false hope.

Why should Jega/Inec deceive me with the introduction of Card reader, knowing fully well that it is not legal?
Why should Jega/Inec waste the resources of this country injecting millions of Naira into technology, that yeilded no good result?
Jega/Inect deceived me again when he made his baseless statement before April 11th poll, that where Card Reader failed, the election should be shifted to the next day. I relied on this pronouncement, went to the poll, with the assurance that there would be no room for election malpractice, but lo and behold I was wrong. The almighty Card Reader was jettisoned and all maner of irregularities was employed.

I will not VOTE again in anything election in this country. I will never encourage my kids, friends, acquitances to do so(vote) if Jega/inec was not brought to justice for deceiving me.

That is the way elections go in Nigeria. There are malpractices and manipulations here and there. Jega did his best but the NASS didn't want to recognise the use of technology during elections so they can rig it anyways.

Don't blame Jega, blame the Supreme Court justices that have decided to take us back to the inglorious era of election rigging.
All those saying the card reader is not in the electoral act conveniently overlook the fact that in the same act,INEC,is given powers to make orders as to the good conduct of elections. But the Supreme Court in its selective interpretation of the act decided to overlook this.
Dont be surprised though because this is the same court that barred a law enforcement agency from investigating a former alleged fraudulent governor,Odili, perpetually!
So leave out Jega, for despite his shortcomings,he tried, but there are a set of individuals at the bench, immuned to taking nigeria forward, just because they can't be sanctioned.
The supreme court particurlarly with the Rivers,Abia and Akwa Ibom election decisions has given legal backing to election brigandage, thumb printing, ballot snatching, results writing and thuggery.
This was what propelled the likes of Orubebe and others pushing him behind the scenes to want to cancel the final tally of results with the knowledge that if Jega had got up from that seat without pronouncing the winner, and pdp had manipulated the other results yet unannounced, no matter how absurd the figures, these same justices wud have affirmed it and returned GEJ the winner!! U can imagine what kind of country we wud have had today with GEJ still in charge, but these same justices wud have cleared his election, believe me, and people are expected to keep quiet, just because the supreme court has ruled!!!
So much for free/fair elections

It is not a must that you or any of your family must vote. Card reader is not for anybody and it is not against anybody. Those who are crying against card reader are those who think that the card reader dashed their hope of rigging the last election.
Crying on nairaland will not help your situation. The fact that you are not happy with the card reader is irrelevant. I am happy with the card reader, my family is happy, given the same opportunity I will vote in favor of anything that will prevent election rigging.
