The Aviation Minister should Resign by BUSHFELLOW(m): 10:21pm On Oct 31, 2006
Why is it that in this part of the worl politicians dont know when to throw the towel in. After an incident like this i think the aviation minister should resign since he became the minister of aviation we have lost so many. Let him take a bold step and step down. that will be the begining of men of honour in our great country. Or what do you guys think
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by Odeku(m): 10:39pm On Oct 31, 2006
Nonsense, see that is why we always disagree. why don't you ask the president vice president, and all ministers to resign as well, Instead of us as Nigeria to look for the root cause of the problem, now its a pointing finfer and blaming game. What is wrong with proper investigation? identification of the problems and lasting measures and resolution, won't that be logical? if the minister resign, and the problem is not fix, will the next minister guarantee smooth operations?
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by BUSHFELLOW(m): 10:56pm On Oct 31, 2006
That is not why we always diagree, the reason is simple you always misunderstood me. Since the head is currupt let him the aviation minster resign to save his own image if he has any. Presently with all the crashes i think he has none.
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by Odeku(m): 11:30pm On Oct 31, 2006
DUDE can you even spell corruption? how do you know he is corrupt beside what you read in the paper, misinformation is a serious decease, people see one story on line and digest it to be something else. damn. well what do you know you still a kid, hang tight,
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by BUSHFELLOW(m): 11:40pm On Oct 31, 2006
Ok sir but still he should resign
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by OBJ3(m): 1:44am On Nov 01, 2006
WHY SHOULD HE? IS IT HIS FAULT?
SHARAP
NONSENSE angry
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by JosBoy4Lif(m): 2:25am On Nov 01, 2006
It could very well be his fault.
But like Odeku said proper investigation must take place.

Again this will take time and resources. The quick fix would be to just get rid of him
It would be like in any standard business.

If business fails, you autamatically look to the CEO or President. Is this right ? You be the Judge
There is an onus of responsibility that such people like ministers are supposed to take.
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by Odeku(m): 3:36am On Nov 01, 2006
This is not time to change leadership, we have big problems waiting us, ELECTION is near and that should be the primary focus as of now, either way they are all living after the election.
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by JosBoy4Lif(m): 5:27am On Nov 01, 2006
We have Problems in The AVIATION sector that need to be handled now!
How many more planes will have to crash before we re-examine our flight issues that we have today?
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by lewa(m): 7:28am On Nov 01, 2006
I have said it on some similar thread and on other related topics-NOTHING WORKS IN NIGERIA,apart from NAFDAC and EFCC.In a sane country the aviation minister would have resigned and tendered his apologies to the family of those slaughtered and the nation. But, alas even after the purpoted cleansing of the aviation ministry following the Bellview crash at Lisa what happened?ADC and other 'molue' airline operators must be sanctioned. Destinies are being terminated abruptly sad
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by GNature(m): 7:44am On Nov 01, 2006
What really puzzles me about Borishade is the way he put the blame on the pilot less than 24 hours of the plane incident. That action of his was really short sighted.
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by lakeside4love(m): 11:58am On Nov 01, 2006
U guys r sayin the crash is not his fault, Yes i agree, He isnt the one pilotin the plane,

But why is rootin all blames on the dead pilot?I think for that alone, he should resign,

Why didnt he wait for full investigation before blamin the crash on the dead pilot,

Has anyone read the Guardian newspaper of today, It says from a tape transcript of Flight ADK 054 crash indicated the pilot was cleared to fly,

this is what a nation gets when you elect Baboons and knock heads as leaders, the crew survivor ( Mr. Peter Onuka)also confirmed the pilot was given the go ahead to fly,

He should resign simple,

Sign the petition online. We'll send it to the media.

Borishade should go NOW: http://www.petitiononline.com/borisha/petition.html
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by Odeku(m): 3:04pm On Nov 01, 2006
his resignation is a temporary solution, The root cause of the problem has not been identified, and you can not fix a problem without identifying the cause. There has to be proper investigation, sanction and even prosecution of all culprits
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by BUSHFELLOW(m): 11:15pm On Nov 01, 2006
go online and read the todays guardian news paper and you will see that the control tower told the pilot the he shouold fly.

And now the minister came openly on national television to pour the blame on the dead man. Abba what does he takes nigerians for, a fool or what.and to think of it we dont have any rader system in majority of our airport so how would you know when the weather condition is not safe for flying.

Pilots today on MBI television asked the minister to resign and openly condemed him for lying to nigerians that our radar system are working when they are not.

So what would you say to that is until his own son dies on a plane crash that he would step down.
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by Odeku(m): 12:28am On Nov 02, 2006
BUSHFELLOW no radar system working is that the ministers fault or the Federal government? when the big boys fight the little man na him dey get the bullet, lets go way back to the root cause of this malfunction airports. Blame all the ex aviation ministers and ex presidents, they should all be ashamed and not just one man. haba

but odeku, don't you think it was inappropriate for Borishade to blame the incident on the pilot less than 24 hours of the plane crash ?
Re: The Aviation Minister should Resign by Odeku(m): 1:04am On Nov 02, 2006

Quote:
The Minister of Aviation, Dr. Babalola Borisade, on Wednesday said the calls for his resignation by some senators and critics were uncalled for.

The calls followed Sunday’s crash of ADC Flight 053 shortly after take-off at the Nnamdi Azikwue International Airport Abuja.

But while fielding questions from journalists shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Borisade argued that since he lacked “spiritual power,” it was wrong for people to blame him for the spate of air crashes that had occurred since his assumption of office as the Minister of Aviation. (---)

He, however, said that he would have resigned if the possession of divine power was the requirement to function as the Minister of Aviation.

He said, ”The calls for my resignation are based on the fact that people thought I should have spiritual or divine power, which I don‘t have.

“And if divine power belongs to God, and if they expect me to have divine power, it is not possible for me to have it.

”And if that is what they need an aviation minister to have, then, I have no objections. I will just leave. I know I don‘t have divine power. I am not rejecting their advice to resign.

“I have told you that the condition under which they are making this call is that they are looking for somebody who has divine power which I don‘t have. And if that is the only quality required for being an aviation minister, I don‘t qualify to be there.”

When told that records showed that the nation had recorded most crashes during his tenure, he responded, ”You can begin to extend that argument that during the tenure of Mr. President, we have had x number of air crashes . You can begin to go on and on.”

Borisade maintained that the ministry had done its best to make the airspace safe.
End of quote:

I will only add that Borishade is not an honourable man!
