Rivers Judgment: Wike Sighted In Supreme Court by yjgm(m): 8:20am On Feb 12, 2016
Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike was yesterday sighted at the Supreme Court during the meeting of Body of Benchers.

Though, Wike did not disclose the purpose of his presence at the meeting but a source told our correspondent that his presence may not have been unconnected with some statements credited to him during the thanksgiving service held in Port-Harcourt, the state capital where he was said to have spoken glowingly of the Justices of the Supreme Court, especially, the wife of the former governor of the state, Mary Odili, a Justice of the Supreme Court.

Governor Wike came in company of some of his aides at about 10am and left at about 2pm.

“Governor Wike is here with chairman and members of Body of Benchers. But we don’t know, if he is here to attend the meeting or was summoned in respect of his statement during his thanksgiving service in Port-Harcourt last weekend,” a source said.

Dakuku Peterside, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Rivers State governorship election, accused Governor Wike of influencing the Supreme Court judgement that declared him (Wike) winner of the state’s gubernatorial elections.

Peterside, who congratulated and offered to help Wike in moving the state forward, said there was need to reflect on some anomalies in the polity.

Speaking further he said, “Despite my acceptance and temperate public comments on the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 27th of January, 2016, Gov. Nyesom Wike, by his unguarded utterance last Sunday, seems to give credence to the pervading doubt being expressed on the judgement in public space, especially in the media’’.

“Many good Nigerians continues to wonder why PDP and Gov. Wike’s supporters went on wild celebration across Rivers State as early as 9am on the day of judgement even though the actual verdict was handed down at about 6:20pm of that day. It clearly suggests that they might have been in the know of what the judgement would be, long before the Supreme Court pronounced it.

“This is coupled with several comments especially on the social media some three weeks earlier such as: ‘Thank God there will now be no need for a rerun election….. It is surely ending at the Supreme Court, etc.

“Credible information confirmed that Nyesom Wike had earlier confessed to some persons of having met one of the justices of the Supreme Court in Mbaise during an important burial, another at Owerri in a hotel and yet others in Dubai and Saudi Arabia respectively.

“These justices were in the panel that decided the matter in Wike’s favour.

“The most striking revelation by Nyesom Wike is contained in his account at the thanksgiving service last Sunday.

He obviously stunned his audience and the watching world when he confessed that when it came to the judges, Dr. Peter Odili and the wife Justice Mary Odili (a Justice of the Supreme Court) were his advisers.

Now that puts Justice Mary Odili in the limelight. Questions need to be asked. In this country, advisers don't give advice for free. It comes with a token. Also, it is conflict of interest and professionally unethical for a Supreme Judge to frolick with politicians or even become their legal adviser.

There must always be an excuse for loosing.

I think the only man that did not cry us a river of excuses for gallantly conceding defeat is our beloved President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

That reminds me, sir, while you were away from Aso Rock,
#naira is now...

This is eye opening, Wike influenced the Supreme court to rule in his favour. He also influenced them to favour Akwa Ibom, Delta, Abia, Ebonyi and recently he told them to rule against Aisha. Wike is obviously more powerful than Buhari, he is the defacto president. When you have been Wike'd, you become an insanely stupid sod. kiss

APC Candidates are bad losers, no spirit of sportsmanship in any of them.
Whenever judgement swings in their favour we don't hear their wailings but once it swings in the opposite direction you hear stuff like "we have lost Akwaibom, we have lost Rivers, we have lost Bayelsa,we have even lost Delta, this is not good for us as a party....the Supreme Court justices must be probed"-John Oyegun- APC Chairman.

"INEC knows,PDP know it also that we won the election, but we leave everything to God"
Mama Taraba.

"Nyesom Wike influenced the Supreme Court judgement to his favour"
Dakuku Peterside.
The above is just a few of the disgruntled statements the APC candidates made to the press when they lost at the courts, forgetting that it would amount to double standard to nullify an election in Rivers and uphold that of Lagos for the non usage of card readers.
