Human rights activist warned President Buhari – Ann-Kio Briggs advised Buhari to obey the law in case of Tompolo President Muhammadu Buhari was urged to call for the immediate withdrawal of soldiers redeployed to some communities in the Niger Delta region. Ann-Kio Briggs, a human rights activist, gave the warning saying that the presence of troops in these communities especially in the Gbaramatu community of Delta state could be provoking and was capable of causing tension in the area.

The Federal High court in Lagos issued the arrest warrant for the of the ex-militant warlord Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for his denial to honor several invitations by the anti-graft agency. The Nigerian police force have deployed officers in Bayelsa state to arrest the former Niger Delta militant leader.
