As expected, the new government in Canada is proposing changes to the current laws on immigration. This is to enable the process of immigration become faster and easier than it currently is. The following are some of the proposed changes;

Applicants may count each day they were physically present in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person before becoming a permanent resident as a half-day toward meeting the physical presence requirement for citizenship, up to a maximum of one year of credited time.

Physical presence reduction to 3 out of 5 years before the date of application instead of 4 out of 6 years

Authority will now be able to seize documents provided during the administration of the Citizenship Act if there are reasonable grounds to believe they are fraudulent, or being used fraudulently.

Good luck to all you guys aspiring to achieve the Canadian Dream.

Ok, lol. The title got me scared. I thought they were stopping the PR route or making it tougher to qualify.
