Wulfruna: Yep Zaghawa is a sub-group of Kanuri. Kanuri, Tebu/Toubou/Tubu, Kanembu and Zaghawa are all one in the same group. They are all just sub-groups of the much larger Kanuri, but their languages are almost all the same. It's like Songhai, Zarma/Djerma, Dendi. They are all Songhai people that were once part of the large Songhai Empire. Same goes for the Kanuri, Tebu/Toubou/Tubu, Kanembu, Zaghawa. They are all Kanuri with the same roots and 90 - 95% similar language. You are good Wulfruna, you know your stuff. 2 Likes |
