Hello Nairalanders, is it right to drop snack wrap or soft drinks container on the floor of a taxi or bus with no trash can or waste basket?

I ask because if it is, then I'm guilty, I dropped a soft drink bottle in a bus and the driver got furious that I should have thrown it out on the road instead, but I can't cuz then I'd be littering the road
While some passengers argued against it, some who saw reasons with me defended me, but I'm still confused, shouldn't he rather be blamed for not getting a trash basket since its a commercial vehicle? I want to know your opinion here as well. Thanks a lot.

I'm already used to keeping stuffs like that in my bag after usage, be it in a bus or wherever. I dispose it when I get home.

He should have a waste bin in his vehicle.....and its because he didn't have one thats why he's upset about cleaning up the mess you left behind.

You did the right thing.

You did no wrong. If I were you, I'd purposefully get another bottle and drop it again. He should always do what is right, which is to get a waste basket.. I drop off all waste in a bus and not outside the bus..

One day I was in a small bus travelling and one man sitting in front of me was eating bananas and throwing the peels from the window.

I couldn't take it again and I asked him to stop doing that but he got very angry and shouted "Do you want me to drop it on top of ya head?"

Just imagine.

It is common knowledge that banana peels limit the efficiency of brakes and can cause accidents.

This is how animalistic some Nigerians can be.
