It may not be as rugged as a Toyota but is it really that bad that it must be avoided

Its either that or get a 2011/12 kia cerato... Prices of Camry's have really shot up recently and can't afford one!

Hondas are better built than toyotas. The 8th Gen Honda accord American Spec till the recent generation is way advanced than the toyota counterpart. They're much safer, much advanced, much more powerful, muvh more innovative and driver focused than the camry.

If i am to choose between a honda 8th gen and a camry xv40, I'd pick the honda with the 2.4l KA24Z3 engine avoidig the R series engines.

This is coming from the keypad of a die hard toyota fan and i typed it myself.

people who say hondas aren't good are either naive, being mischievous or outright ignorant. i have had a 2008 camry for a while and a 2007 accord and i can tell you that maintenance is key. personally i prefer the accord....but then, it's my opinion.

To me personally from experience, i mean my own personal thought, hondas are cheap, underpowered, some have sporty looks but the opposite, most are ugly, when the owners try to modify them, they RICE them,(even in naija), mostly automatic and FWD (good for our old grand mothers) not so reliable, (one tire will fall out in a bend) interiors and exteriors are cheap and lack styling, compared to even Hyundai, Let me just stop, seriously to me the disadvantage out number the advantage of getting a honda so i will NEVER BUY ONE BY GODs GRACE.
Note this is my OWN PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF HONDA. & even if u say i hate honda. YES U ARE RIGHT. Don't debate with me cus this is my personal issue. Nissan,Mazda,Mitsubishi.
Never honda never.

A honda accord is faster than a toyota camry with similar engine specs, interior is well detailed than most Japanese car specs within same class specs, much moree standard equipment are found in honda of a partixular trim level compared to most other cars within same class and trim level. A honda is sporty in handling than a toyota due to its suspensiom setup. A honda is very reliable year for year, its reliability ratings are quite matchrd with that of toyotas. Lets forget bias, if you think you have an European car with same engine specs as a honda and wish to race against a good driver, dont be surprised that honda will annihilate it on the straights and some curves.

Same Accord that can start experiencing stressed chassis in front where the front end chassis starts expanding jn a manner that the shaft could become incompatible and tends to oull out from the wheels?
Have you heard of any toyota experiencing such nasty stuff?

Mr. Stereotypes, Toyotas also experience that issue. Corollas (First Lady), 4Runners, Sequoias and Camrys I have seen. May be you are limited by your scope and may be experience...

Its not about stereotype. Toyota, unlike Honda DO NOT experience any expansion of front chassis under normal driving situation except its been involved in a front end or trans axle issue.
