Switzerland, Nigeria Sign Agreement To Repatriate $321 Million Abacha Loot by ResolvingPath(f): 1:13am On Mar 09, 2016
Nigeria and Switzerland have signed an agreement that paves the way for the return of more than $300 million confiscated from the family of the Nigeria's former military ruler, Sani Abacha, the office of Nigeria's vice president said on Tuesday.

Representatives of the Swiss government are expected in Nigeria March 8, 2016 to discuss with their Nigerian counterparts the repatriation of another portion from the huge public funds stolen by late Head of State, Sani Abacha.


But the Swiss and Nigerian civil society groups, expressed concerns that the fund could disappear just like the repatriated funds by the government of Liechtenstein in 2014 under former President Goodluck Jonathan administration, the $235 million returned by the Liechtenstein government vanished without trace.

A petition was forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari, demanding that his government give assurance that the $321million that would be returned to Nigeria by the Swiss government would be put to good use. Read details >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Anyways I hope the funds will be used for projects and development that will provide employment for Nigerians and promote the growth of our economy
