If this goes unpunished it would set a precedent for future secret trial; meaning, someone can falsely accuse you of a crime and allowed to bring in fake/masked/shielded witnesses to testify. Wednesday, 9 March 2016http://www.thebiafraherald.co/2016/03/live-update-court-proceedings.html

I've seen it used in more advanced countries and find no issue with it. The mafia cases in Italy and even rape cases in the UK. The worst that would happen would be the defendant claiming he's never met the witness before. A touchy subject such as this requires anonymity of witnesses considering no one can guarantee their safety. 1 Like |

Your allegations are false. The accused, his defence team, the prosecutor and the judge all get to see the witnesses. The only people who wont see the witnesses are the public. This is needed since Mr Kanu insists on having his family members in court during proceedings. If he had forfeited that right, there wont be any reason for DSS to shield the witnesses. Remember the witnesses are members of the public like you and I. The IPOB goons openly threaten even strangers, what do you think they will do to any one who lives amongst them but testifies against Kanu? Lastly, I see Kanu's case going the way of Rev. King. He will huff and puff till supreme court insist on his death sentence. 1 Like |
