When the immediate past Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II joined his ancestors, the new king was expected to be chosen from the Giesi Ruling House. This brought to fore 2 brothers Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, and Prince Adeyeye Ogunwusi amongst the scores of interested contenders. Shortly after His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, was coronated, there were reports that his emergence reportedly strained the relationship with him and his elder brother Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi.



During the coronation ceremony, the 3 Ogunwusi sisters { Princesses Folasade, Adesola, and Adebimpe Ogunwusi} were seen up and doing but not much was seen of Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi. Less than 4 days to the royal wedding of the Ooni of Ife to Wuraola Obanor, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi convened a meeting on Tuesday, 8th March 2016 with their father Chief Ropo Ogunwusi(Baba Oba) and his siblings in attendance at his Victoria Garden City(VGC) home in Lagos. This reconciliation has shut down speculations of disunity among the Ogunwusis.
