Common Misinterpreted And Added Bible Verses by Pheals(f): 2:20am On Mar 13, 2016
I sometimes wonder why people normally add to the Bible or misinterpreting it, this should stop because the next generation won't bother to confirm it or not thinking it's correct or in the bible

Let me list few

FOR BETTER FOR WORST pastors do say this in the churches doing marriage which make some people taught it's actually taking from the holy book, someone argued this with me some times ago..but. am sure of this it's not there!

Cleanliness is next to godliness"
No, Jesus did not say this in the Sermon on the Mount nor in any of his teachings recorded in the Gospels. This Bible misquote might have its root in James 4:8: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." Stop saying it's in the bible it ain't there!

"Touch your neighbor" naija pastors!!

This phrase might frequently be heard during sermons, when a preacher has a particular point he or she wants to get across — but, surprisingly, this saying isn't in the Good Book. Christians are admonished throughout Scripture to love their neighbors, but there is nothing in the Bible about turning to your neighbor, high-fiving your neighbor, or touching your neighbor.

"Money is the root of all evil"
This misquote is not too far off from the actual verse, found in 1 Timothy 6:10: "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."

"Pride comes before the fall"
This phrase often attributed to the Bible is almost correct. The actual verse, found in Proverbs 16:18, actually reads: "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall."

Note this also :

“God works in mysterious ways.”

“Spare the rod, spoil the child.”

“God helps those who help themselves.”

They are not in the Bible pls

the misinterpreted Bible verses

◄ Matthew 6:26

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Actually God provide for the birds but he doesn't throw it into their nest!

Always remember this --->Proverbs 10:4 Lazy hands make for poverty,
but diligent hands bring wealth.

Phillipians 4:13

“13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

If Bible verses were movie characters, this one would be Rocky, triumphantly reaching the top of the steps, arms raised and fists pumping. This verse has been plastered on everything; T-shirts, posters, football players faces – everything. But is it really telling us that, with enough faith, anything we want or need to do is possible? Will the Lord really give us superhuman strength to accomplish any feat? No.

Numbers 31
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that has known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
( actually they only have them as wives)

Deuteronomy 22:25-27 mentioned the punishment the Mosaic Law commanded for a man who raped a woman. The man was to be killed by stoning while the woman was considered innocent. Though the Mosaic Law was for the nation of Israel during the time of Moses, the principle is clear that rape was sinful in the eyes of God and led to the most extreme punishment possible—death for the rapist.

for any typographical errors or grammatical errors please don't blast me

Happy Sunday!!!
