Good evening fynestboi, I have once told you about this, but I have to reiterate it now.

Your relentless effort to ensure that this annual debate is successful is appreciable.

Please look into this suggestion, it is very painful seeing a school or a debater getting eliminated because of the absence of a co-debater. Kindly make only one sole representative to represent each school. Although there can be an assistant perhaps to put heads together on their essays, but only one debater should be representing.

Or better still the assistant can post on behalf of the sole debater if it is obvious that he/she can't make it online during the debate....

*The benefit of this is that, the judges will be more effective in passing their judgment as they would have less essays to read. It will also remove boredom from the whole process. Just imagine when you said, each debater should post 800Minimum word count, that means we are going to have to read about 3,200 words (an equivalent of 10pages of Microsoft word document) if we have 4 debaters.

One may even lose guard on understanding the subject of discourse in the debate, especially at the rebuttal stage.

And lastly, the issue of one debater being an hinderance to another debater will be a thing of the past. I am so personal about this because this is the reason team Yabatech got evicted.

I hope these suggested changes will be put to use in the next edition. God bless you Sir, keep up the good work.

Thanks Sir. Highly appreciated Sir. I must confess that the victory is as a result of doggedness and sacrifices of the team leader, Mr Neyoor. He prevented the scenario of what happened to team University of Ibadan

As a very brilliant jobless graduate with no passion for entrepreneur , could you kindly suggest how such a one can survive, make himself useful to himself and entire nation.

Well, entrepreneurship is only one of the ways of surviving. From your description, the graduate is brilliant. Good, he should just try start from the scratch by engaging himself in any job. The wait for white collar job is saddened these days. I have a bro beside me who graduated 2 years ago. And because he couldn't secure any job, he was advise to go for private secondary school teacher but he refused saying he can't afford any stress again. All he wants is collar job. If he sees a vacant teaching position, he should just go for it and stop being choosy.

Any where in the world, govts are assessed with the level of unemployment in existence.

Hope Lai Mohammed cannot dispute this.

If APC can't lower the unemployment rate as was on May 29, 2015, it has no excuses to give for its failure.
Barack Obama and other leaders lowered their respective countries' unemployment rate after the crash of 2008

Obama did not do it in 9 months. It took 8 years..

Aysuccess99 you did brilliantly well, maybe your brilliant work would have been complemented if your opponent showed up, as the rule of the debate, owning to the absent of one of your team mate , Unilorin is herby declare the winner of the debate for presenting two member from her team...

Though the result will be post when available...

Congratulations to UNILORIN

I think Aysucess99 did a great and even a better job as a single debater. This is the first time I am following a debate on nairaland because I always felt it was just student stuff.

But this debate showcased brilliance and exceptional articulation

I dont know what the rules are but what ever they are, I consider it an unfair rule disqualifying such brilliant performance because of the absence of his partner.

The guy raised alot of unrebutted facts, outclassed the opposition with the numbers of convincing points.

Why put him on the contest in the first place.?
Why waist his time, mb and energy knowing you were going to disqualify him?

He has shown true spirit of sports manship in his closing remark but that doesn't take away the dissatisfaction someone like me feels. Una no try abeg.

That said, kudos to organisers of the debate for bringing together good brains

The government is solely to blame for high unemployment rate in Nigeria.

With high level of obeisance, sequel to no iota of denunciation, I acknowledge the inexhaustible coordinators, the sedulous and unslanted panel of judges, the energetic and hell-bent moderator, my bond and determined co-debaters. My greeting is futile and incomplete, if I failed to salute the prestigious and splendiferous audience of Nairaland Forum.

I go by the nomenclature, Oyedeji Oyeniyi, an ardent representative of the better by far University of Ilorin. I want to seize this unique opportunity, to vehemently oppose the motion that states that “The government is solely to blame for high unemployment rate in Nigeria”

Nigeria is estimated to be over 185 million in population, over half of the population are labour force; which implies that people of age-range 15 to 64 are over 100 million, and over 70 million of them are employed, although some of them are underemployed and over 29 million representing close to 30% are totally unemployed according to the National Bureau of Labour Statistic. In the past, the government, especially the federal government have tried so hard in combating the deadly virus called unemployment that is militating against the prosperity of this nation, through some laudable initiatives that includes: Operation Feed the Nation (OFN), SURE-P program, YouWin etc. but yet, the rate of unemployment is increasing exponentially in Nigeria and the reason could be majorly blamed on the part of the people, owing to their Laziness, Impatient and Unemployed traits among others.

It is a known fact that no matter how booming the economy of any country might be, it can never have the agility to employ more than 50% of its labour force population, except in few countries with sparse population. This implies that the remaining percentage will have to embrace Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME’s) and all other liable means to fend for themselves. The issue of unemployment can be greatly felt in Nigeria because the Youths that represent the larger percentage of the working force harbours laziness. 70% of Nigerian youths are of the opinion that they deserves a white-collar job after completing their education, hence, the reason why they always boycott any manual or blue-collar job they could earn a living from and that could be regarded as nothing other than unabated laziness. United States of America, France, Germany and Netherlands could not have been the front runner in the list of countries where agricultural products are been exported from, if their labour force have boycotted farming. Even though Nigeria is blessed with fertile land and favourable weather that is suitable for agriculture, majority of the youth will never for once think of embracing farming because of their laziness. The government have even put in place several juicy scheme to enable her citizens indulge in agriculture but yet they won’t.

Furthermore, the issue of employment is becoming pertinacious in Nigeria because the Nigerian labour force is anchoring gross incompetence. The federal government have designed the educational sector in such a way that anyone that allows the school to thoroughly pass through him will have positive impact to make in the society but it is highly egregious that majority of the youth of nowadays are just passing through the school without having the grasp of what will sustain them after school, hence the reason for exorbitant unemployment rate. A Nigerian minister once announced that Nigerian youths are unemployable. He made this valid assertion to defend the question posed at the government for solely responsible for the radiating unemployment rate in Nigeria. The truth is that majority of the labour force doesn’t have the intellectual might to offer their employers. Most of the traits that employers want are lacking in majority of the Nigerian labour force. My opponent might want to blame the government for not creating enough job opportunities but what about this gross incompetence from the side of the labour force that is restraining them from perfectly handling the jobs on ground.

Let me finally assert the power of my vociferous pen to unravel another secret of the Nigerian labour force on this subject of discourse. It is veracious, that an average Nigerian youth is very impatient in nature. All they want is for them to start a job today, build a house and buy a car from it at the end of the month. They are so impatient, that they don’t want to start from the scratch or manage a token amount. Success is built over time and with hardwork, perseverance and dedication over the years. Manna doesn’t just fall from heaven and heaven helps those who help themselves. Before we can blame the government for the outrageous unemployment rate, the labour force need to strive to be patient, employable, focused and skilfully oriented.

Exactly me view bro. I almost cried when I learnt that UI has been evicted because of the absence of one of the team members while it was obvious that the only member from UI who was present in the person of aysuccess99 did not only do justice to the topic but also educated and enlightened many who followed the debate, hence deserve to be pronounced the winner. It is very painful, even at the rebuttal stage, the speaker responded to all the objections raised by all the stakeholders. I really pray they consider this your suggestion and implement it.

USING THE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUE•. Beloved, the power & authority in the name of Jesus has been given unto you; so begin to function & live by the power in the name of Jesus. Therefore your words & actions are back by divine authority! Sickness, weakness, fear, failure, lack & every form of infirmity will have no place in you. That's why Christ said in the book of mark16:17-18,“And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;{18},They shall take up serpent; & if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hand on the sick,& they shall recover.
