Please permit me to rant this monday.

In what i still feel was a ‘‘Test and see their reaction’’ tactics, the federal government announced last week through the the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, that they have decided to unbundled the NNPC into four or five main operational zones comprising 30 companies to be headed by a director each.

This of course did not go down well with a lot of Nigerians especially the stakeholders.

Labour unions in Nigeria’s oil sector, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), reacted quickly as they went on an immediate strike.

Something they are good at doing.

The government seeing that whatever plans they had were going to backfire, came out to withdraw the earlier statement.

The minister, Ibe kachikwu claimed that he was misconstrued.
Typical.

Well, for whatever the initially reasons were, it is good that he clarified his statement and records were set straight.

We can not begin to imagine what would happen if the oil workers were to down their tools because even without a strike Nigerians are still suffering to get fuel.

While the prices of purchasing fuel now falls between 140 to 180 Naira in most filling stations across the country, the stress Nigerians pass through in trying to purchase the product is another hell of a story..

The scarcity of the product is just one of the numerous issues the nation have been plunged into.
And it seems all we are entitled to now is the sympathy of the government.

Again, few days ago, the government in it’s magnanimity apologized to all Nigerians over the worsening power situation experienced in major parts of Nigeria.

Just a quick thought;
Are these guys in charge of power no longer scared of the New Sheriff in town?
Is it not high time we relieved the Governor of Nigeria of some duties? or we still don’t think power and works alone is too much for one man.

MOVING ON……..

While we thank the government for been gracious enough to send an apology over the Fuel situation, we have to point out to them that their are still more lingering issues that needs apology too, if it is what we need to cushion the weight of the pains we have been subjected to..

We demand an apology for those precious hours we spend and waste on daily basis just to get fuel with our money.

The unbelievable and continuous rise in dollar, and the alarming high prices of goods and foodstuffs.
We would need an apology here too.

I think the youths deserve an apology too or don’t you think so?
I think they do for the 5000 naira stipend once promised them.
After months of singing with it, there hopes were dashed just like that. Apology is needed here.

By the way, who would apologize to the dead who met their fate at the hands of the Fulani Herdsmen men due to the poor response of our security personnel.
What of those who lost their homes and properties to the dastard act of these persons around the country.

If apologies is all the government have to give for now then they should make sure it is dispensed properly.
Everything today is an apology, we are all becoming victims of one situation in our nation.

ALL IS NOT WELL
ALL IS NOT WELL

Why do people only face federal govt for everything? You have councillors, LGA chairmen, governors, members of house of assembly etc, but you only have energy to rant for federal govt. You left the person you can easily reach to complain about the one thats miles away.

This will not change till we are able to hold our leaders accountable. Its not about N5000 free money for youths, its about responsibility and accountability. Start with your LGA thats receiving moneys on your behalf every month!

"Anyone who has not commited sin, let him cast the first stone". Who made you a Judge over a more honourable citizen than you? Did we put Mr. President there to humiliate and jail our enemies for us? No. He is to lead us democratically and in accordance with the fundamental objectives and directive principles of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
