Raiders: It is an indication of the type of society. I've always said same as you did but the problem with this country is the right man is usually so obscure, no one ever imagines he could be right. All the issues in this country can be linked in a thread which screams "backwardness". All our attitudes, beliefs, values are indicative of our backwardness as a society. His first wife was a lot more pretty. He looks like he wants to run away. This was definitely arranged. Maybe he owed huge debts from the tussle for Ooni. I mean Even if it's a Bini bride he would have married a young real princess, which I am sure the Bini royal house would have willingly given out one of their daughters to an Ooni. I've never seen such a couple look so loveless and so not into each other as these two in every pic I've seen of this marriage bombarding us all over the net. Is she pregnant? Is that the reason for this marriage? She seems like she is not too happy to be in this while everyone around seems so jubilant. Here's what I believe and it may be an unpopular opinion: I think these Yoruba 'kings' and then with their multiple wives are extremely sad. Such a blatant representation of female subordination and subservience in our culture. It is NOT something to be proud of, and I feel pity for these 'sister wives' who think they've 'made it' when they marry these 'kings' (insert rolls eyes smiley). I don't care HOW much money you have, but to me, it is all pure poverty mentality. There are no useful functions of these 'rulers'. We need to find ourselves, my people, and stop promoting silliness and useless ancient traditions over effective order and better use of resources in our communities. God forbid my future daughter is excited about the chance of being one of multiple wives to some 'traditional ruler' who means nothing everywhere else in the world than getting an education, becoming a success and marrying a good man that only plans to take one wife. Even the alleged sister Jennifer Oyab.... (I forget her last name's spelling) who is posting pictures on her instagram, publicizing this union suffers from poverty mentality--evident in the nature of her general photos which she shows off her expensive wares in every snap to show what she's got. Real, paper money is silent, but coins make a lot of noise. Poverty mentality, all of it. Yes, I said it. 4 Likes |

It doesn't matter in succession issues except he wants more kids for his own private reasons. His kids can't succeed him. It would have been better if he stayed with his wife.
