Benue lawmakers slam Buhari says reaction was suspect

Agatu people have accused Fulani herdsmen of embarking on genocidal rampage aimed at decimating them from the map of Nigeria, following incessant attacks which have led to the massacre of hundreds of persons and the mindless destruction of sundry communities. Spokesman for Agatu communities, Mr Akpa Iduh claimed that the herdsmen had repeatedly carried out unprovoked attacks on their communities destroying farmlands, houses and other institutions, while the Federal Government has paid deaf ears to their entreaties for succour. However, the claim was rebuffed by Ado Boderi, who represented the Fulani community in a recent meeting between both communities, adducing that criminal elements from both sides have taken advantage of the situation to escalate the crisis. Boderi said the recent attacks were merely reprisal following the deliberate killing of 10,000 cattle belonging to the Fulani herdsmen whom he described as peaceful and solely focused on their main occupation of cattle rearing. The attacks, which the former Senate President David Mark, said were deliberate efforts to erase Agatu people from the map of Nigeria, have so far elicited mild reaction from President Muhammadu Buhari who only recent urged the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, to look into the matter.

In fact, I don't have any pity for these Benue folks. Their cowardice just like their SW & SE counterpart is legendary.
I trust the SS! They don't joke with issues like this. They will decimate the marauding blood thirsty Fulani herdsmen gladly. SS, I hail oo.

Sorry to say this but buhari is just a simpleton, of what use is to us by deploying thousands of soldiers in one section of the land because of politics and lay a blind eye against the other because you stand nothing to gain from their land or should I call it shear wickedness? keeping mute on the pains, groans and the agony that agatu people are passing through.

Everything in Nigeria today have been politicized. Our politicians have succeeded in dividing us along political lines and we gullibly bought their lies.

Benue Ordeals in the hands of Fulani nomads did not start yesterday. It predates PDP/APC. Obasanjo, Yaradua, GEJ and now PMB all met these evil.

My only concern is that just as the federal government is not doing enough to solve this reoccurring problem, the states of Benue and Nasarawa too are not proactive.

If Maiduguri people can form Civilian JTF to tackle Haram. I think Benue indigenes should take their destiny in their own hands because our government cares about no one.
