just curious y northerners are so xenophobic. most southerners in the north leave in fear and live very cautious lives cos even an arguement over the colour of the sky is enuff to trigger another slaughter of foreigners. this retards the economic dev of any region as investment is limited. i know it majorly has a religious flavour but the tribal nature can be over emphasized. or else how can u explain for instance the killing of yoruba, igbira and igala muslims by fellow nothern muslims. Yes i witnessed this in jos when all of a sudden they are percieved as fake muslims. u can imagine how islam mud hav been if the arabs considered themselves as d only true muslims. Infact it was the equality for all mankind that islam preached that was majorly responsible for its growth in america esp. among blacks dealing with slavery. It has now reached a level that parents do everything possible for their wards not to do their NYSC in certain states. for nigeria to be fully integrated, all must feel welcome in all parts. lets be frank, a kano man in lagos feels more cormfortable than a lagosian in kano. Ive had friends resign or reject appointment cos they got posted to some states in the north. it takes a few hours to destroy wat was built in many years. i know every region has its problems but we are better off creating less problem. i also feel these affected places like kano, bauchi and jos have been set back 50yrs at least interms of total growth. actually kano wud have been bigger than lagos or at least equal if it was more accomodating.
