Why Are Muslims Afraid Of An Anonymous Forum? by thehomer: 1:18pm On Mar 27, 2016
I've been away from Nairaland for a while so I may have missed the events that led to certain decisions being made. Today is Easter and I just decided to visit the forum. With the recent events in Belgium I wanted to read what our Muslim netizens thought. I just picked a topic to comment on and was presented with a query to declare whether or not I'm a Muslim. Of course I said I wasn't and I got booted off the page and now appear banned from commenting on anything there.

So, what is it that Muslims are afraid of on Nairaland? They threatened and got a separate section. Now they refuse to even consider any opinion that may suggest that they have wrong ideas? This to me is unacceptable in a free and open society. Opinions can be challenged. Wrong ones more so. Nairaland doesn't owe anyone a voice and can easily shut down the Islam for Muslims board. But, if that board is allowed, I think we should also be able to speak on that board and moderate it based on what people do rather than whether or not they belong to a perceived favoured group.

I think that we need an alternate board to discuss these issues for fairness and consistency. If they don't want to discuss it where sensible ones among them can actually say why they're right or wrong, then we should discuss it elsewhere for them.

I propose a board called Islam For all Including Muslims.

We don't want Kiriyo dirtiness in our section

Stay here and talk about the Baibu

And one more thing, you have every right to air your views but have it back of your mind that
we don't give a f*ck about what you think

What does "Kiriyo" mean? So I'm dirty becasue I'm not a Muslim? Really?

kaakulator3:

I want to talk about the Qur'an now.

Obviously you do because you or your group has banned anyone who doesn't first agree with a ridiculous set of beliefs. If GTB bans Muslims from opening bank accounts it would be a problem yet you online Muslims seem willing to do somethign along those lines to non-Muslims. Why? What are you afraid of?

Muslims have a twerted way of viewing issues. They always feel threatened and marginalized at the slightest thing even when they are the ones marginalizing others. And they will never proffer a way forward in any situation.
Let me create a little scenerio. If somebody walks into an assembly with hijab laddened with bombs and detonate and kills many, they won't condemn it. If another comes in tomorrow wearing another hijab and blows up another assembly, they will still keep mute. If after series of bombing by some hijab wearing ladies and the authorities now ban the wearing of hijab into that assembly, all the muslims who had not uttered a word all the while people had been dying will now arise and cry marginalization. They will feel threatened and ready for fight. If you now call them aside and ask them to proffer a way out of this bombing of the assembly under the cloak of hijab, they won't come up with any. All they will tell you is don't ban hijab. Period!
Now,the hijab scenerio is both a reality and example but I have over the years found out that that's how they reason. Always feeling threatened and yet never coming up with solution
