Nigerians are generally known to have short memories, especially when it comes to leadership issues. A lot of people want us to believe that there were no fuel queues under GEJ but the clear reality is that we had severe scarcity problems under GEJ.

Take a look at this thread created in 2012 https://www.nairaland.com/836786/fuel-now-141naira-liter-bought

Is that an excuse for the scarcity to remain forever. Or is this Buhaha administrative competing during GEJ time for the longest scarcity duration. Shame to you op. Solve the problem and stop taking us back abegi. Iranu.

OP, what is your point? I guess you just want to create a thread...that is good. I score you high for opening a thread.

But again, what is your point? Nigerians bought fuel at 140ngn at a time when the government then completely deregulated the d/S. Then there was a massive strike action by organised labour and CSO that paralyzed all Economic Activities in Nigeria.

Today, the official price of is 86ngn and Nigerians are suffering acute PMS scarcity and you draw up a post of 2012 to sedate their pain or what? What exactly is your point?

We just returned from Easter holidays and I have made a strong deliberate attempt to remain civil today...please, don't continue along this line.

For BAD IS BAD!

The APC Progressive government is taking us through the worst fuel scarcity regime in recent times. We need fuel...SIMPLE!

It is certainly obvious that some youths are the problem of Nigeria.
How can a sane person be making such baseless argument?
Maybe you are not a student of history. The price shot up to N140/litre due to the "sponsored" subsidy protest.
Now we know better.

We all agree that we have to pay some price to get things working. However, the price should not apply to the basic things in life.
We are no longer asking the government to provide again......make these things available and we will buy with our "hard earned money".

This fuel and power brouhaha is getting too much.
I pray that God will direct our leaders.
God bless Nigeria.

So GEJ is the yardstick now?
I thought APC promised us that there will be no more fuel scarcity?
Now you guys are changing tune and saying that it is not as bad as during GEJ's time.
For your info, we've had like 3 episodes of fuel scarcity under this govt within the space of just 10 months.

Na wa for APC.

wailers won't see this one oo... with their very illogical reasoning you would have thought PMS was sold at 20naira\lt under the ineffectual one.

@ Mynd44 even you?

That was the transition period when marketers were holding the nation to ransom due to the "same subsidy" that your likes protested for.

There is no justification for what is happening now in this country.
The next step will be for you guys to blame the past administration.......

That was why Nigerians "voted" them out for "change"
I want a positive change and not a negative one.

It appears that the 3million jobs annually is gradually being achieved by turning area boys and some unemployed folks to fuel merchants.
After all they are part of the "middle men in the oil and gas industry"

there were several spells of fuel shortages and fuel price hikes in Jonathan's regime not just one. Fuel availibility and price has never been stable in Nigeria, not even for a full stretch of 6 months. So why do they keep nagging as if the current one has never been seen before? Just like they said we have a tortoise mentality! Because of the love to criticize buhari, Nigerians wanna act like they have never queued for fuel before, Nigerians wanna act like they have never bought fuel for 150 before, Nigerians wanna act like they have never experienced long durations of black outs before, Nigerians wanna act like they have never ridden on bad roads before, Nigerians wanna act like they have never seen bad airports before. To wailers and ipob youths all these problems began 10 months ago. Tortoise mentality!

The country is so divided beyond tribalism and religion matter, imagine youths that are suppose to unite and condemn what's currently happening they rather compare past with present that is going to determine thier future.
All of una justifying this madness are very funny.
This fuel matter is taking too long. If NNPC can't refine and can't import, they shld allow every not selected private body that can import do so with thier money na.

President Jonathan was voted out due to his average incompetence. I also know enough not to condemn a government of less than a year in which it has ran a budget that is not theirs.

I thought you guys claimed you never bought petrol at such price before under GEJ: that was how an IPOB tout was arguing with me that there was never a day when there was fuel scarcity during GEJ's tenure, but latter kept quiet after giving him about 5 instances.

It is still the worst! Then, it was after March 29 2014 when PDP lost the Presidential elections. There was a reason and after deliberations, it was resolved. Fuel came in abundance.

Now I ask you, my dear moderator, what is the reason for this current scarcity?

Secondly, have you been to the domestic wings of our Airport this period and notice how flights are 'massively' delayed?

What is the reason we are suffering this much under a 'Progressive' govt?

Hello, quit throwing tantrums on this thread, nobody is fighting with you.
People are obviously worried (and a lot are angry at the current situation), that's why they are airing their opinions.
There is no need for all these back and forth comparison between GEJ and Buhari. It doesn't change anything.

What we are saying is that having repeated episodes of fuel scarcity doesn't speak well of this govt and something should be done about that.
