The mother of the Ebonyi state governor deaconess Margarate Umahi will be buried on Friday 1st April 2016. The wake keeping of the matriarch will be held on 31st April.

The burial has had wide publicity in Ebonyi state and its environs. To many it is a “Celebration of life” and to many “abuse of power” by his son the Ebonyi state governor Engr Dave Umahi.

Because of the slated burial. Activities in the Ebonyi state civil service has come to stand still for these two days. The whole academic activities in the Ebonyi State University EBSU has been freezed for two days.

Examinations slated for Thursday and Friday has been shifted to enable people attend the burial. The burial of a governor’s mother shouldn’t be powerful to the extent of postponing examinations in a UNIVERISITY even if its a state owned university.

So many students of EBSU have complained about the postponement of their examinations because of the burial stating that the university is a learning environment that should uphold its standard.
