I know when you hear about good testimonies people are giving in Churches you always ask yourself “when will God visit me?” at that point you hears a sister, brother, Pastors etc. saying in Church that God spoke to them you always wondered if they are telling the truth or lying in the name of God. I’m here to tell you now, that wondering if they are telling the truth is not important, what is most important is finding the truth yourself. You might be one of many people who had been born in the Church or you have been born again for Long time, and the only thing you can boast of is your joy of salvation and the new life you are now leaving. Apart from that, you haven’t had any other personal encounter with God or hear him speak to you in any away or maybe the only information you have gotten from God is his words in the Bible and what others told you they heard from God.
The truth is, the time you waste wondering if the people you heard saying God spoke to them is telling truth, you can use it to be part of the truth, In other words you can experience the truth yourself. Is wrong for you to be inside river and complain that, there’s soap inside your eyes that will be pure act of irresponsibility. Another sentence I use in defining Christians is “men and women who searches out the mind of God” there’s nobody in Christ who is made to be spectator; nobody is redeemed only to wait for rapture. Our 1st objective as Christians is to be part of the kingdom of God on earth, which is within you already, Luke 17:20-21, Colossian 1:13. Our 2nd objective is being empowered to hear from God and also to be bold through the presence of the Holy Spirit to do all things in Christ Jesus acts 1:4-5. Our 3nd objective is most important which is to expand the kingdom, this is our work, our mandate, our task, Mark 16:15. Though many ministers knows this but what we hear in Churches these days is that we are made to dominate the present world, that’s a serious sign that something is wrong with our focus, our prayers in Churches these days shows that we are now lovers of ourselves and not lovers of God. That is a massage for another day; my objective now is to get you to know how to find out yourself if God speaks to Christians by experiencing it yourself.
I know by now you are anxious to know how to totally hear from God. If you truly want to hear from God you have to seek him, Matthew 7:7 as simple as that sounds, there’s a condition to it and the condition will be found in the book of Jeremiah 29:13, it was stated in Jeremiah that you can only fine God when you search for him with your heart. That’s to say you will keep searching until you start showing serious focus; until your heart is in line with your mouth. This task of finding God can take you 5minutes it can also takes you more than 10 years depending the time you totally mean business. To hear from God you must have self-control and able to control the thoughts of your heart, without which you will be in Church for years and still be wondering what’s happening around you. The most important of all is for you to develop personal time with God, which in turn will help you to develop intimacy with God, is only someone that you are in love with you will try much to spend time with and if the person is willing he/she will reciprocate the love you have shown, in that regard, God had already loved us 1st John 3:16. When you reciprocates God’s love he will come close to hear and let you hear him, the list time you should spend personally with God is 1hour every day.
