What drove you to study Optometry?
From time, I had always wanted to study medicine and surgery because I have the passion to be of help to people, especially when it has to do with their well being. Coupled with the fact that I ultimately want to save lives, medicine is a profession that is so much in demand. But I couldn’t get the course. I was offered Optometry and since it is something that has to do with health and solving people’s problems, I accepted it and it’s been a pleasant experience. I enjoyed Optometry, especially the externship programme, because it exposed me to the practicality of the profession. Physical optics was, however, somehow tasking, but it was worth it.

nigerians should take note of the bolded. most of these "para"medics(optometrists, lab scientists, physiotherapists, radiographers e.t.c) wanted to study medicine but couldnt. they found themselves in the above courses and are trying to ascribe to themselves the title "DR" through the backdoor that they couldnt get through the front.
congratulations to the guy but i hope he doesnt join his senior colleagues in the profession to "bad mouth" doctors. grin grin

If its from ebsu, imsu, absu, lasu, eksu or anything that ends with "su", please don't take it seriously.
from what I read there he wasn't awarded for being best nationally ,he was awarded for being the best in his school and I don't think state schools give out first class anyhow, and I think the issue of lecturers hoarding marks is rampant, in state schools so my freind give honour to whom it is due.

I
am sure when you were in school, you couldn't even contribute anything tangible to your group work let alone come out best in your class in just one semester.

Too much exposure to some form of light, like computer screen, could affect the eyes. What we do for such people is to install screen guard or we give them a spectacle that has the screen that can shield the eyes from that radiation

In order to avoid too much exposure to light,I think I need a screen guard for my mobile phone.

Or get yourself a good Oshogbo weed.. Smoke it green it also helps because it makes ur eyes curl and defend the radiation

Never underestimate the weed

A 4.71 GPA is an excellent achievement by any standards and must be respected. It's not easy.

Anyone who knows these guys that have been getting recognition for their top grades, please have them send me a message.

With their top grades, they can enter the IVYs and OXBRIDGE if they desire. I can work with them to make this a reality.
