Please before you buy something on Jumia, take out time to visit their page and make sure to read and understand their return / refund policy.

In case you do not have the time to go through the policy, make sure you open the product package in front of the delivery man to at least see the condition of the product before you pay for it.

I placed an order for this Rimmel bronzer, it was delivered and I paid for it. On opening the package, I saw the product wasn't intact- the powder cake was broken into pieces, I immediately notified the delivery man of my findings. He apologized and explained they do not know the condition of the products as their job is to deliver already packed products, I understood.

I immediately sent a mail to jumia customer service and I was referred to their return policy, I explained that the product was already damaged before delivery but they insisted that I could not return it. WOW!

Someone has a bad product and another person is forced to pay for it and keep it. Something wey no be me spoil? I no understand.

I was really shocked and disappointed cos if this is how they do, then it will affect their reputation and they will definitely lose their customers.

Question: What measures have they put in place to ensure that 3rd parties who advertise on their website do not sell bad products and get away with it?

If any measures have been put in place, it means someone is not doing his/her job.

That's some of the disadvantages of online shopping. You have to able to see and inspect what you want to buy before putting money on it especially when you are in a country full of untrustworthy people.

But some of these merchants are just evil.

I bought a bad 32gb memory card from jumia and it was damaged. I returned it to their delivery post and they rejected it. Well all that money spent plus transport fare won't go like that so I ordered an 80 litres Samsung refrigerator and abandoned it when it arrived. Now it's their turn to beg. Wicked people

I stopped using jumia for online purchase. I discovered some times ago that they are like aliexpress. The only difference in aliexpress is that you can return.

I will rada walk with my legs to see things for what I want to buy than order online. This is Nigeria and not abroad where their online markets are coordinated with honesty.

Even most of this things online are more expensive than in local market but we Nigerians want to live the 'oyinbo' life by force grin

What you don't understand is that abandoning the 80 litre fridge was not punishing Jumia instead you punished an innocent seller who had nothing, didnt even know about your memory card issue with Jumia.

Jumia has no measures in place for anything. I've had some bad experiences with them.
