I have Redhat linux running on my sys. I am finding it very difficult to connect to the internet with one of them cdma's. Pls anyone who can help, I am all ears, |

what enviroment did you install your linux on if it is under networking then u were supposeto select your packeges during installation after you may have used the manual partioning or the atomatic one. if you are installing under the single user envirroment then you have to select your desktop options instead of the networking package. but no matter your enviroment you can try this few tips to see weither you can connect to the network. 1. hope the IP address you are given is correctly written 2. your subnetmask is correct 3. you deault gateway is correct; a) eth1 for local address that is if you are using the proxy through the private switch b) eth0 for public address that is using the router 4. your ethernet card is working properly and the cable to check all this addresses log on to the redhat button look for system settings try editing then all the options for this address would be shown. i have only used linux under networking enviroment so i do not know much about single user. if you have further questions to ask here is my e-mail address hajo2k2@yahoo.com |

Thanks y'll I use the redhat linux and I connect with a starcomms phone when I tried using d data pack cd that came with d starcomms phone it just didn't work. |

its pretty much the same process your question has already been answered in the page 4 of ubuntu linux post and that cd can't work its for windows |
