Yesterday, around 10 minutes to 9, I and my mum and sis came home, I went straight into the kitchen because i was hungry, so I decided to fry egg, but there was no groundnut oil, so I went out immediately to get, As i got to the gate, I met my next door neighbour, we greeted and I proceeded to getting my groundnut oil, On my way back I met this my neighbour, as I was about approaching the stairs and this conversation began

:-{ Neighbour : Where is the 1k you took from my bag

Me : I didn't take 1k from your bag

Neighbour : you are the only one to have the passed, you must be the thief (Note : She wasn't even at home when I, my mum and sibling got back)

Me : I just got back home now, I didn't take your money, search me, so that you will be sure.

Neighbour : No I won't do that, you are the thief and I know what to do.

NOTE : In the process of thus conversation, she was screaming at the top of her voice and everybody was listening.

When I got in and my mum asked and i told her, she was livid, and went to meet her, to explain to her that we just got in and not to try that again, when the shout was getting too much i had to draw my mum in.
I wanted to let the matter go, but this morning, my mum woke up and started crying and it was touching, it was really paining her etc.


Now, I just want to sue her for defamation of character, embarrassment and whatsoever I can sue her with.


Please Lawyers in the house, what steps can I take, can I make her pay big time, please I need your advice and assistance, this public insult and embarrassment just can't go like that

You want to spend thousands to sue because of 1k? Funny.

I doubt if anyone would accuse you of taking money (or anything else) from her bag if you haven't been doing that before, or the level of familiarity is not in excess.

Anyway if at all you didn't take it, just ignore her, pretend as if you have forgotten about that and be very nice to her. I'm sure if she has a heart then her conscience will judge her and she may apologize to yo with time.

We don't relate that much, she has never seen me stealing so why should she confront me and label me a thief.
