Dear Dr. Mrs............,

Let me first apologise for two things:

First for replying your message this late, I am sure you are aware of the current situation in the country as regards fuel and electricity. These are major factors that made it took about one month to reply. However, thank goodness, I was able to buy fuel at N230 per litre and I hope before I finish writing this Open-Close letter, the generator will not go off and if it does, I pray AEDC will be able to restore light after days of uninterrupted power failure.
My second apology is making this response a public response. It was deliberate because, I have had other feedbacks that toe your line of question. I just want to use this opportunity to deal with the issue elaborately.
Enough of preamble let me get down to business.

Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an enigma, a phenomenon and a very powerful force in Nigeria politics. He is the pillar, the strength and the backbone of several Nigerian politicians especially from Yoruba land. He commands respect of all ethnic groups and he is a star of immeasurable proportion that cannot be rivalled. My dear Comrade, if Chief Tinubu had lived in the oriental times, he would have been canonized and turn to a deity that people will worship. He is such a man.

And such a man is way beyond my capacity to hate. All I have for Chief Bola Tinubu is awe, respect and admiration. Let me state categorically, I DO NOT HATE BOLA AHMED TINUBU. I CANNOT HATE BOLA AHMED TINUBU. I DO NOT HAVE CAPACITY TO HATE BOLA AHMED TINUBU.
My difference with Baba Tinubu is basically on ideologies, principles and identity. I do not believe in idolizing fellow human being no matter their status. Just as our Lord and Saviour said when someone called him good master, he said ‘no one is good but God’, and when they brought a woman in adultery to Him, he said, ‘I do not condemn thee’. I can deduce that, in good there is bad and in every bad person there is good in them. And as a person I have chosen to see good in every bad politician and the bad in every good politician.

Now let me go to more serious issue about my perception of Chief Bola Tinubu, your leader and mentor.

In the build up to 2011 General election, Chief Tinubu had a rare opportunity to demonstrate to Nigerians that he is capable of putting Nigeria first ahead of personal gain. But when he could not force Pastor Tunde Bakare to commit perjury by signing a resignation letter of a position he has not attain, Tinubu would rather throw the baby and the bath water away. It is on record, that Chief ‘ported’ to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign few days to the election, abandoning even his own presidential candidate; Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

I am convinced that Chief did the right thing at that time in the best interest of his personal business and political empire. He doesn’t sow where he won’t reap. I have no problem with that. Afterall, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar made it known to all that he is a business man first, before being a politician. And we know Atiku does politics to advance his business empire, same with late strong man of Ibadan politics, Baba Lamidi Adedibu. We know these men for who they are and we deal with them accordingly. They don’t pretend about it. But we have in Chief Bola
Tinubu a carpetbagger that camouflage as saviour of the masses. That is hypocritical.

I considered myself as an Awoist. I have been reading about Awo philosophy since I was 8 years old. One of the Awo philosophy is that none of his followers that held public offices must live above their means. Can we say that about the people Bola Tinubu fixed in offices across the south west? Baba Awolowo was able to enforce that amongst his followers because; he doesn’t collect ‘dues’ nor get consultancy contract. Can we say that about your leader?

I like to know what people stand for. But as far as I am concerned today, I don’t know what Bola Tinubu stands for. I know he used to be a strong advocate of Sovereign National Conference, he has jettisoned that. He was an advocate of regional integration, but today he has forgotten about that. He was at fore-front of true federalism, that has gone with the wind as well. Resource control, state police, independent electoral body and several other meaningful reforms he advocated, now all those has been sacrificed. I would really love ma, to tell me what Senator Bola Tinubu stand for in Nigeria.

On 8th of March 2013 Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu was widely reported to have said: “For example, the accumulation of money by the Federal Government is a misplaced objective for these times. Our driving purpose must be to channel idle human and material capacity into productive streams that furnish jobs and manufacture tangible goods bettering the living conditions of every citizen. To say we are saving money for a rainy day while everyone is already drenched and wading through flood waters makes little sense to me.” The same Chief Tinubu will later in 2016 blame Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for not saving.

You will notice that I did not use the Asiwaju title for Chief Bola Tinubu. It is simply because the Asiwaju of Yoruba title as his followers want to ascribe to him does not exist in Yoruba culture. And using Asiwaju title for a man of Tinubu status is demeaning as far as I am concerned. He is only Asiwaju of Isale-Eko, a town that is less than 5Km sq. That is another thing we talk about. He was made Asiwaju of Isale-Eko, and he is ascribing to himself Asiwaju of Yorubaland through back-door. That is corruption.

Let me thank you for reading this. And thank you for wishing my wife Happy Birthday. Kindly extend my warm regards to Prof. and your little angels

Exactly why they are for "everybody" and for "nobody"

They are all the same. The only difference is the icing just to make one believe they are "sweeter"

The article never say that. But since that's your assessment of Jagaban, you are entitle to your opinion.

Op, are u just realising this?
Something we've known long long ago.
Nigeria politicians, they only go where it favours them.
Most of them are Ashawo politicians,,,jumping from one political party to the other where they hope to get something.
