I beg to disagree, there are lots of private universities that have just 5 profs,
I don't know what you're saying but 80% of private unis in Nigeria lack adequate amount of professors.. #Fact

In that case the blame should rest squarely on the NUC for allowing them operate. No other agency of the government can decide the health of any university in Nigeria but NUC. If the NUC gives any institution a clean bill of health nobody has the power to say otherwise.

Let p1 and p2 be two kinds of label (say Mimee and Indomie) of a particular product (eg noodles). Given that the actual product bearing those labels are made from the same factory line with more or less the same ingredients. Will you say the products bearing the label p1 are better than those bearing p2? Support your answer with some evidence.

The professors that teach in public universities are the same that lecture in private ones. Even those other lecturers in private universities who are not professors are products of public universities. Unless you are telling me that people who receive education at public universities are not good teachers then you don't have a case.

I really don't understand the hate on those from private universities. We should stop arguing with our public university counterparts and prove them wrong by excelling in our fields. Thats all.

Nor mind the Op. As far as I'm concern, no quality education in Nigeria. Education ought to be an atmosphere that give room for research and innovation. Nigerian Education is copy and paste including lecturers and student.

Imagine one of my lecturer during my days in the university, was using her 200level note to teach us in class. Infact she was dictating it for you. No wonder we have universities and technology schools yet, Nigeria is yet to come out with a science invention that will shock the world. Sciences and Engineering in Nigeria is total joke.

What we have in Nigeria is not quality education but quantity education. More reason you will do 23 course in a semester and can't even apply one of them in nature.

Nigeria is still backward in education, be it private or public. Nigeria universities should even stop celebrating their first class because what they have is not an applied knowledge but a theoretical knowledge.

I rest my case!
Baba you get Brain die Sir.

Private or public University, what i know is that our educational sector has not performed to expectation in reviving our distress economic situation.

Nigerians just like to suffer. They believe you must suffer before getting your B.Sc. They don't want to agree that education can be made easy. They forget that Wole Soyinka came out with a 3rd class in Nigeria but travelled out and came out with a first class. May be we should say Universities in America are below standard for giving Soyinka a first class degree. Nigerians pls have sense and say no to suffering.

public university is got many other names also identified as federal universities, government universities. it's one of the three major school settings also practiced in country nigeria - state, federal, and privately run university. government owned universities is quite much more recorgnised especially internationally than privately run schools and universities
They well known but rated low. That is not to say the private are better off but the public is worst off
