Virginity Is the most Overrated social value in the world. Infact, the African society is the most notorious advocate of this value. Virginity Is rooted in moral and religious teachings. But the society has gotten the wrong footing on this subject.

The essence of Virginity Is to ensure a woman's moral purity, and not necessarily the state of her hymen. These days people are more interested in the whether or not the hymen of a girl is broken and not the moral behaviour of a girl. People judge girls who are virgins as better than the non virgins...this is the most ignorant assumption anyone could make.

First, it is unreasonable to measure a girl's moral value with whether or not her hymen is broken. I have seen many girls who have done the dirtiest of sexual acts but are still virgins. I know of girls who have experimented on all forms of sexual pleasure without a penetration, do you still consider them "pure" simply because they have an intact hymen?

Now, have in mind that there is a clear difference between a non-virgin and a hoe. A non-virgin is a person who has had sex and a hoe is a girl who is gives out her sexual intimacy cheaply... And sexual intimacy isn't tied down to sex alone, but every act of sexual pleasure, which includes kissing, MouthAction, sex chatting, sending of nudes etc. Meaning one could be a hoe even with an unbroken hymen.

Truth is, there are girls who have had sexual intercourse but at still very morally sound. Girls who have had one or two boyfriends they went down that route with before they got married. They are fully committed and loved sincerely. Yes, they had sex but were not sluts.

I had a friend, really young, 16. She said she hadn't had sex before but she had done sexual stuffs (I. E kissing, MouthAction, sex chatting) with no less than 6 guys. Now let's be fair in judgment... Would you say this girl is more virtuous than an adult girl who has had sex with just one or two guys? Would you judge her purer simply because her hymen hasn't been broken?

In today's world the Internet has made it even easier for young people to explore their sexuality without having to engage in physical intercourse. Today girls share nude pictures of themselves with their Internet buddies, have sex chats and are exposed to every other dirty sexual habits like masturbating and all...

Baring this in mind, girls found a way to get full sexual satisfaction without breaking the hymen. Would you still judge them as "purer than non-virgins" simply because they haven't been penetrated yet?

Let's play the religion card Here...

Pre-marital sex is a sin, so is any other sexual act done with anyone else who isn't married to you. A virgin has no special place in heaven, a virgin does not enjoy more benefit from God than a non-virgin, as much as their ways are pure before the Lord in sincere repentance of their sins, God doesn't treat a non virgin lesser than a virgin.

How does it affect marriage?

OK a man gets married to a virgin, and on the nuptial night he penetrates the Virgin and breaks the hymen and then what? He lives happily ever after? He is guaranteed a successful marital life? He's gonna have a happy family? I've seen non virgins who are committed and virgins who are terrible cheats. Marrying a virgin doesn't guarantee any advantage over marrying a non virgin. The virtue of a wife is not tied to the state of her hymen.

A man needs a companion who would take care of himself and be a good mother to his children and virginity doesn't ensure any of these.

Most girls these days are not virgins because they are pure. They are merely tied to the morality attached to the title- "virgins".
